Yes, this team does stink Reggie

And you’re a big reason why, you talentless bust

lol yeah it's Reggie's fault

think about this. If Lousaka Polite was still here, and all we did was run sweeps to him, throw him swing passes, and motion him out to slot WR, would you say Polite sucks, or would you say we are using him in completely the wrong way?

Exactly. We all know what Polite’s strengths are, and if he was being asked to do things that he isn’t good at, that’s on the coaches, not on Polite.

It’s the same situation with Bush. He’s not a power runner, no matter how cut his biceps are or what he wants to say about being a feature back. He’s not a great off tackle runner, and he’s not going to get tough yards. What he IS good at, is cutback runs, edge runs, and zone runs. He’s one of the best pass-catching RB’s in the game, and he’s one of the most dangerous players in the open field. He’s also extremely versatile, and has the ability to run routes from the backfield, from the slot, or out wide by himself. And to top all that off, he’s an elite punt returner.

And the Dolphins crack coaching staff do NONE of those things. No screens, no outside runs, no splitting Bush out, and for some reason Bess is still running punts back (or fair catching them) instead of Reggie. So does Reggie suck? Nah, he’s just being asked to do things outside his skill set.

I agree with you Nicky, Reggie’s been actually doing pretty solid considering 1). He rarely gets touches and when he does it’s up the gut and he’s had like 1 or 2 receptions a game. 2). The coaching is atrocious and they don’t really know how to use him to create more mismatches for other players.

Looks like Guess Who really doesn’t know football.

I disagree with one thing.
He’s not a great off tackle runner

He’s actually really good on those it’s the dives and up the gut runs that he sucks at. Off tackles and power O runs always leave the option for him to cut it outside because it’s off the left or right tackles. It’s the up the gut runs that are a waste of time. I mean, yes run them to keep the D honest but if you’re only giving the guy 10 carries a game, then don’t make 8 of them straight up the middle. But again, I agree with you.

it's semantics

but by “off-tackle run” I meant the ones that cut up inside a kick-out block at the edge. The Power O’s that you are talking about usually try to fold the DE inside and turn the corner. Slight difference, but the ones where he has to take it upfield inside a lineman/tight end aren’t his strong point.

But yeah, he definitely should be used more on the edges and in the passing/screen game.

it is almost like we want to be the worst team.

There were 2 huge Tebow completions at the end of the game where the O-line was blatatanly holding (even tackling) our defenders. Maybe the refs go to church with Timmy boy.
Doesn’t matter though, I’m just going to be a casual fan this year. I barely paid attention to the game until the 4th qtr. Up 15-0, I knew this team would somehow allow the Broncos back in the game.
