Ross was in a no win situation but did make the right choice

The way i see it, Stephen Ross had the different option when it came to dealing with the head coaching positions, and none of them were easy. No matter witch path he took it was going to be an unpopular direction to go in. I'll list them below a discuss each of them and my opinon on on each.

The first option was to simple state from the end of the season that Tony will be our head coach next season. In hindsight this seems like it would have been the best option, but hindsight is 20/20. If this happend there would have been an out cry that the front office simply doesnt care about the team and cares about selling tickets. People would be shouting to the sky that Ross is a cheap old grelim that only wants this team to pimp around celebrities and finally become the cool kid on campis.

The second option is the complete oposite. Fire Tony the monday following the loss to the Patriots and begin the head coaching search from scratch. Again hindsight being 20/20 this looks like the worst option. The fact that we couldnt land any of the coaches that we were going after means that we would be stuck going with a new head coach that would have not been a popular choice. You would be hearing right now how Ross jumped the gun and we would be better off keeping Sporano. Now were stuck with a guy that no one is happy with and were even further behind then ever.

The third and final rout was the one that was taken. Ross goes out and searches for a new coach while keeping Tony on as a back up incase things don't work out. Now that things have played out the way the have, having Tony on the back burner was a very smart move. Something we also take for granted is that our owner was willing to go out a drop a heavy dime to land a guy that he thought would make this team a winner, no exspence spared. There are alot of fans of alot of teams that would kill for there owner to do something like that.

So as i said, I think the rout we went was the correct one. Although we are now facing pretty dark days ahead here in Dolphin land, things could always be worse. Be thankful that we have a GOOD owner who is willing to spend money on the football side of the orgainization but not tamper with its workings.
