Harbaugh "not sold" on Dolphins????
Report: Jim Harbaugh 'not sold' on Dolphins
According to the San Jose Mercury News' Tim Kawakami, Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh "isn't sold" on the situation in Miami with the Dolphins.
"Money talks, but Harbaugh's looking for reasons to look elsewhere," says Kawakami. It looks like Harbaugh is slipping away from Dolphins owner Stephen Ross. NFL Network's Jason LaCanfora suggests Harbaugh's decision could still come down to Stanford and the 49ers, allowing him to stay in the Bay Area. Per LaCanfora, Stanford's offer was actually higher than the Niners' with bonuses included. At this point, the Dolphins, 49ers, Broncos, and Stanford remain in the hunt. It's possible the delay is just a ruse allowing Miami to satisfy the Rooney Rule. Jan. 6 - 8:14 pm et

Guys i hope this is just to satisfy the Rooney Rule, and not a harbinger of things to come. This needs to come to an end sooner rather than later. If this keeps playing out for a while, go for Cowher, and fire Ireland.

Just for that I'm not sold on you either Mr Harbaugh. So there.
Miami Dolphin fan since 1971. Still the only UNDEFEATED team EVER!
what a mess this has become...
Ross’ first big football decision and he’s made it into a circus.
Stop wasting draft picks on trash heap quarterbacks.
It does seem that way but it seems the media is hyping this up more than anything else.
Ross doesn’t have a bad track record with this team. He opened the checkbook in the offseason, stated his expectations and kept out of the coach’s way.
Now if he wants a high profile coach, he has to press the flesh and put in the face time. He’s doing that.
For what it looks, it seems like TS is being strung out to dry. That may or may not be the case and until they make a statement and the various leaks and sources start giving out the same story, we have no idea what transpired so far.
But the media hype...
…for better or for worse matters. Part of the job here is to precisely recognize that your actions as an owner cannot be conducted in a clandestine, behind closed doors kind of way; every move will be publicized and speculated on every minute of every day until things come to their resolution.
With that said, this has become a nightmare for our team. They’re doing Sparano dirty, and now it seems like Harbaugh doesn’t even want to come here — we’re all left looking like chumps, and chump numero uno is Tony Sparano.
This is real ugly — Matty made a good point about something we should really keep in mind. Tony Sparano will be the lamest duck of a head coach in the league — can he attract a top-tier offensive coordinator now? Why would someone want to come to a sinking ship? The only reason would be blind — and perhaps stupid — ambition, i.e. to be in a position to take over a vacated head coaching position at the end of Sparano’s lame duck year. It’s stupid, because obviously Ross is looking for a big name to put in that spot, so I’m not sure if some internal promotion is a big enough splash.
Rough news if Harbaugh doesn’t take this thing.
I'm pretty sure...
That Ross told Sparano exactly what the deal was:
“Look, I am going after Harbaugh. If I can’t get him, I’d like you to stay. But if you want to leave, I understand. Do you want to wait and see if we get him or not. up to you.”
I can’t blame Ross too much for the circus. He has kept his mouth shut… surprisingly so. He has no control over third parties talking to the media. He hasn’t disrespected anybody as far as I can tell.
well see what happens tomorrow
I’ll be avoiding sports media until then

it could really be just a pr move from the dolphins to buy time and take care of the rooney rule issue and get some other things straten out. also keep in mind that michigan athletic director did say he was preety sure of harbaugh going to the nfl. what concerns me a bit is the whole luck thin but then again mortensen did report that they were separete decisions. as for thhe broncos i don think economically they will match as and the article does imply money play a big part, for all we know it could be nothing more than a pr move.
Is the Rooney Rule really a factor?
Doesn’t it apply to coaching vacancies?
As far as we know Ross isn’t trying to fill an open spot, he’s try to replace one coach under contract with another one he prefers.
If that’s really what’s happening what is Sparano supposed to do right now?…can he send his resume to Michigan? Talk to other NFL teams?..
If the Rooney Rule does apply …Ross has to go through the motions of interviewing someone so he can hire Harbaugh?…..who would want to be that guy?
This is looking more like a cluster ^#@%$ by the hour.
