The Next Starting RB in Miami...Michael Bush?

There are flashier names (DeAngelo Williams, Ahmad Bradshaw) who have the speed and big-play ability Miami covets, but there is another running back who could be the next Michael Turner.  If you remember, Turner was the backup to LT in San Diego three seasons ago, and was considered one of the top back-up RB, and next-in-line players.  Atlanta invested in him and the rest is history.  Oakland's Michael Bush could  be the same situation.

Like Turner, Bush is very compact (6'1 245 compared to Turner's 5'11, 244), and has the size to be a feature back.  He's your classic between-the-tackles runner, who offers play-catching ability, and can make big gains.  With all the potential running backs out there, it'll help keep the market down, but Bush is an under-the-radar type, and at only 26 years old, with very little tread used (376 career carries), he offers a lot of intrigue.

Give me a Orton, Bush, Mankins off-season and I think we have ourselves a playoff contender.

I agree

O-line first, or Bush will be wrapped up in the backfield like ricky and Ronnie were this year

I don't know what will happen with the CBA...

…but I think he’ll be a restricted free agent.

Roberto Wallace is the next Miles Austin. That means it will be at least two more seasons before he's a game changer

Question....isn't Vincent Jackson available?

I imagine he’ll never want to play with the Chargers after how they played hard ball with him. I’m pretty interested to see how Kory Sheets plays out this next year as our O line needs to be repaired. Plus, Orton may work for a little while but sadly once defenses key in on him, he’s useless. Every year Denver started out hot but then sucked down the stretch because they figured out his progressions pretty easily. I’d like to give Thigpen the ability to fight for the job.

I'd go with Deangelo Williams and resigning Ronnie

we don't need big name RB's...a lot of teams get it done with fill ins like the redskins have all year long...

we need big effective lineman!…that must be our first order of business…need to be able to run the ball and take the pressure off whoever will be under center

I like to go to zone blocking scheme nxt year.

I don’t know what it is with Ronnie. Was it the knee, the foot…he was straight up slow to the hole. I know there wasn’t any holes to run through…but at least Ricky ran up the back of Incognito and pushed for 3 – 4. Ronnie would hit the hole standing straight up and get nothing….time and time again. The kid is a bust…never had break away speed. If it wasn’t for the WC he shoulda been cut last year.

ROFL..............Ronnie relies on vision, and patience, Ricky on the other hand just takes it and goes, and accept what he's given

Give me any name

are a lot of good name (some very know.. some under the radar) in RB at FA…
but one thing its true… the O-Line need a lot of improvment, this year was to irregular, and Long play injured almost all season…
Im focus FA in get solid player to improve O-Line, and get via Draft the Future RB and QB… but gona see ehats happend… this will be 4 laaaaaaaaaarge months until the draft…and first need to see whats happend with the HC and OC novel…

I'd rather have the other Bush, Reggie Bush. He offers what our team lacks most, speed and big play ability.

Michael Bush is just a younger Ronnie Brown. I’d rather bring back Ronnie, who’ll cost less than Bush and offer about the same production, and pair him up with a speed back.

I still like Darren Sproles

He signed a one year contract last year. I say keep Ronnie give Hilliard a chance to show what he can do, and mix in Sproles. You talk about a playmaker. That would also be a HUGE upgrade in returns.

by dolfanfromcali on Jan 5, 2011 2:53 PM EST reply actions

I would bust a seam if we got Sproles.

I wonder what kind of contract he would want though.

Think he got about $7 mil last year.

Not sure the Dolphins would be willing to spend that.
I also think Bush would be great. When Mc Fadden was hurt, Bush always seemed to put up big numbers

by dolfanfromcali on Jan 5, 2011 3:25 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah thats probably too expensive.

We will probably just end up drafting someone fast in the 5th or 6th round.

Either way for gods sake I just want some speed on our offense.

Unless they lower the CBA requirement for FA eligibility to 3 years.

Michael Bush will be a RFA and will probably receive at least a 2nd round tender.

I used to think I had a drinking problem.
So I stopped thinking.
