14 Teams get to pick before the Miami Dolphins in the 2011 Draft. Of those 14 teams I count Carolina, Cincinnati, Arizona, San Francisco, Washington, and Minnesota with worse issues at QB compared to the Dolphins. That's 6 Teams. There are also Denver, Buffalo, and Tennessee whose situations at QB are not any better then the Dolphins. The verdict is still out of Sam Bradford and Matt Stafford for Detroit and St. Louis, so i'll leave these two teams alone.
You can erase all thoughts in your mind of trading up to the #1 pick and getting Andrew Luck, these 9 teams, especially Carolina won't let it happen.
Here's where my problem lies afterward: There are destined to be at least 2 to 3 QBs taken before the 15th spot. This means that any QB the Dolphins may get with the 15th pick would not be 1st round talent.
Everyone seems to forget that really only 1 or 2 QBs each draft go on to have success, if even that. I do not want to waste a 1st round pick, on a 2nd round value QB and then have him be a complete bust. Especially since Quarterback is not the Dolphins biggest weakness.
Am I the only person that see's how terrible our Interior Offensive Line has played?
We can't run, and at points we can't throw, and I put the majority of this blame on the Guards and Centers. Vince Wilfork ate them up like Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday. The Offensive Line is by far our biggest problem and biggest need in this draft. Not QB. This is what needs to be addressed in the 1st round.
Why has everyone given up on Chad Henne?
At times I feel like the only person who still stands by him. Only a month ago there were many a post that got 10+ recs about how people need to give Chad Henne time. Where are all these people now? No matter what you say, Chad has been the best QB we have had since Marino (except the 2008 CP10). Why have we given up? Because we think we're quarterback experts or because we listen to a biased media? The fact is that no matter what QB we get in the draft, he will not perform as well as Chad will in 2011. This doesn't mean that I don't agree with giving him competition at the position, but come on people he still has alot of learning to do. Great's like Peyton Manning and Drew Brees have thrown many more INTs then Chad this year. And whats the similarity between Peyton, Drew, and Chad? The lack of a great running game.
Some of the free agency ideas you guys have are absolutely ridiculous.
After Sunday I saw a comment to get Brian Hoyer, and start Tyler Thigpen. Do you really think this is an improvement? Brian Hoyer?! Really?! Matt Flynn?! Joe Webb?! What have these guys proven to you that Henne has not shown? Some of you guys really disappoint me.
In the end...
Chad Henne will still be starting for the Dolphins in 2011, everyone looks at the bad in him, nobody seems to look at all the good he has done for our team anymore. Fix our Offensive Line, and get us some speed, Chad can throw a great deep ball, when someone can get open on a deep route.
