Ok, So I've been a fan since the Marino days and I've seen a progression of QB's come and go. They've all been pretty terrible with the exception of CP10. He brought leadership and a history of winning. Chad Henne lacks both leadership and a history of winning. At Michigan the team regressed (from a win loss perspective) under Chad Henne which is similar to what he has shown in the NFL. I'm done with him. I was excited when they got him but now I'm just over it.
As explained by several other folks here and I'm only going to discuss it for a second...THE COACHING WAS PATHETIC! Sparano running around freaking out about a field goal? Henning getting an elite wide receiver and being too scared to use him? Bringing the wildcat in late in close games and sealing the defeat for us? I mean this was so much worse of a year then the record showed. Having a top five defense and still finishing 7-9 with Brandon Marshall! WTF.
So here's my solution.
New head coach with a history of winning (Bill C. comes to mind). A new Offensive Co-ordinator who's not 182 years old. And Drafting a college QB who wins games. Tebow won games in college and he's looking good thus far. Philip Rivers won games in college (with mechanical issues). You win games in college for a reason and those reasons can transfer to the NFL. Andy Dalton is a rare talent. He's like Tebow but with better throwing mechanics. Cam Newton is a freak who wins football games (in the SEC no less).
I think we can still be a great team with new coaching and a QB that has the desire to be a winner and not be afraid to win. That's Henne's biggest problem. He's scared to win.
A new RB wouldn't be too bad either. Mark Ingram in the first and Andy Dalton in the third. Please please please don't waste the first round pick on some non descript lineman.
That will be all.
Bring Ricky Back.
