I have some real estate on the moon I'd like to sell you.

I’ll even throw in a “developing” QB in John Beck. He hasn’t played a full season (or two as you argue), therefore he’s good!

never said either one was good what i did say is

I think both needed more time to develop
i don’t want to see Henne go be good for another team like other players we gave up on

Matt Roth
Eric Walden

We didn't give up on Roth.

They just refused to pay him what he was worth and he held out due to “injury”. Walden is most definitely a shame. There were rumors of him being a beast in the 2009 training camp, yet he was not given much time on the field other than special teams. That’s on Sparano. Still, do you feel we should have kept John Beck instead of getting the clear upgrade in Pennington? That’s what you are advocating with Henne when there are Kyle Ortons out there.

I would like to see what beck brings to the table

nothing on the 2007 team was good so how is a rookie gonna come in and be a stud when everything is in dismay.

Orton=overated due to the fact everyone on this site is desperate
refusing to pay him (Roth) and then cutting him is not thinking he is worth the money

here kitty kitty kitty BANG!

You're neglecting some rather important details.
Still, do you feel we should have kept John Beck instead of getting the clear upgrade in Pennington? That’s what you are advocating with Henne when there are Kyle Ortons out there.

1.) You’re comparing Apples and Oanges.
CP10 had a history of success and strong play as well as a completion % second to none. CP10 also has a career QB Rating of 90.1 Kyle Orton has a history of success with a good team around him but being in no way spectacular (Sounds kinda like Sanchez, would you like us to have him start for us?). Orton’s career QB rating is 79.6 (That’s after a 2 yrs in Denver where he average 87.2). Orton’s best Comp% for a season was 62.1 in 2009. CP10’s worst ever over a full season was 59.0 (His AVERAGE being 4% points higher than Orton’s BEST year)
If you would like a better comparison of Orton then ask yourself how good is he when Chicago won the NFC in 2006 when Orton wasn’t wearing a Bears uni but in 2005, 2007, and 2008 the Bears (13-3 in 2006) went 21-12 in the 33 games Orton played in? Go look for Orton’s stats vs Grossman’s in 2005. They are virtually IDENTICAL in every major category (Their QB ratings were both 59.7 but Grossman’s was based on only 1 start vs Orton’s 15). Are you suggesting we would be better off with a slightly better version of Rex Grossman?
SIDENOTE: In his first 3 seasons (33 starts, 33games) in the NFL (All with Chicago), Orton compiled a QB Rating of 71.1 with a 55.3 Comp%, 5,319 yds, a 5.8 Yds/Att, and 30TDs to 27 INTs.
In his first 3 seasons (27 starts, 32 gms) in the NFL, Henne has compiled a QB Rating of 75.3 with a 61.1s comp%, 6,246 Yds, 6.6 Yds/Att and 27TDs to 33 INTs.
In short, if Henne cuts down the INTS and throws more TDs, he will be superior to your new cruch Kyle Orton in every statistical measurment that matters AND he won’t cost us ANYTHING in a half-assed trade with Denver. Also of note is that Orton’s Broncos went 11-17 in his 28 starts whereas Henne’s Dolphins have gone 14-14 in his 28 starts (Counting Tennessee this season as a start) which shows how Orton’s #s in Denver may have been much higher than in Chicago but the Bears had winning seasons and Denver had two seasons so bad their coach was fired.
2.) Who the hell said keep John Beck???? Nobody but you as far as I am aware. You want to cherry-pick him as an example of a QB that wasn’t given 2 full seasons but you neglect to notice that Henne is nowhere near as incapable as Beck was nor was Henne thrown into the fire amidst a 1-15 season by a reluctant coach who didn’t want to start him in his rookie year.
3.) Pennington cost us NOTHING because the Jets dumped him!!!! Orton would cost us more than nothing (No matter how bad Denver wants to get rid of him and Elway isn’t sold on Tebow so don’t expect Orton to go at a garge sale price).

Dear desperate Henne Haters that would gladly have anyone but Henne start, Lie down before you hurt yourselves!
If you want to replace Henne then come up with a better option! Good luck with that.
So until you try to sell us that Vince Young would suddenly become better than Michael Vick if he just put on a Dolphins uniform, I bid you adieu.

Kyle Orton did not have a good team around him...

MAYBE 2009, but every other season he has been surrounded with a severe lack of talent. That pretty much invalidates your entire argument. And maybe you don’t remember a full 3 years into the past, but there were quite a few John Beck apologists. I’d say about 1/4, the same amount who still think Henne should remember starter for The Dolphins according to Matty’s poll.

If you say so then it must be true? Sorry, I deal in facts not biased opinion.
MAYBE 2009, but every other season he has been surrounded with a severe lack of talent. That pretty much invalidates your entire argument.

AND YET, Orton’s best season was 2010 not 2009 so YOUR argument is invalidated by YOUR own counter-argument. The only statistic that Orton was inferior at in 2010 vs 2009 was comp % but his TD-INT ratio and Yds/Gm were significantly improved.
In 2005, the Bears went 11-5 and won the NFC North while averaging 16.2 Pts/Gm on Offense and allowing 12.6 Pts/Gm on Defense.
Orton started in all 15 regular season games he played in that season.
In 2006, the Bears went 13-3 and Lost the Super Bowl while averaging 26.2 Pts/Gm on Offense and allowing 15.9 Pts/Gm on Defense
Orton DID NOT PLAY this season.
In 2007, the Bears went 7-9 finishing 3rd in the NFC North while averaging 20.9 Pts/Gm on Offense and allowing 21.8 Pts/Gm on Defense
Orton started all 3 games he played in that season
In 2008, the Bears went 7-9 finishing 3rd in the NFC North while averaging 23.4 Pts/Gm on Offense and allowing 21.9 Pts/Gm on Defense
Orton started all 15 games he played in that season

Perhaps we should review 2007.
Kyle Orton started 3 games and had a 73.9 QB Rating with a 53.8 comp %, 3 TDs and 2 INTs, 159.3 Yds/Gm
Rex Grossman started 7 games and had a 66.4 QB Rating with a 54.2 comp %, 4 TDs, 7 INTs and 176.4 Yds/Gm
Brian Griese (Remember how good he is) started 6 games and had a 75.6 QB Rating with a 61.5 comp %, 10 TDs, 12 INTs and 257.6 Yds/Gm
If you want to argue that Orton didn’t have a supporting cast then fine, but you have to acknowledge that with the same supporting cast, he couldn’t outplay Brian Griese. That is a QB you want to TRADE for? I wouldn’t want to sign a guy like that for a penny if it meant he was my starter.

Also if he had no talent, where was Devin Hester?
Pro Bowlers
Bears 05 – 6 (Starting Center Olin Kreutz in his 2nd of 3 straight appearances)
Bears 06 – 8 (5 + 3 Special Teamers. Only San Diego had more)
Bears 07 – 4 (2 + 2 Special Teamers. Miami had only Jason Taylor)
Bears 08 – 1 (Miami had Ronnie Brown and Jake Long)
Broncos 09 – 5 (Miami only had 3 after Y. Bell and DC$ were added as alternates)
Broncos 10 – 1 (Miami had 2 before Stark and Denney were added)
-SO you want to give Orton a pass due to poor supporting cast but not Henne even though Orton had only 2 seasons with 4 or fewer Pro Bowlers on his team while Henne has 2 years out of two and that’s with Jake Long being Mr. Pro Bowl? You are biased and love Orton. That’s your right, but I hope the Front Office staff are more OBJECTIVE than you are.

As for Beck, people wanted to keep him on the team and dump Cleo Lemon.

Beck wasn’t going to be the starter in 2008 whether Pennington came along or not. Maybe you don’t remember a full 3 years into the past but Josh McCown had been signed in the offseason (2-yr, $6.25 Million) and was slated to be the opening day starter until Pennington became available. McCown was then traded after Pennington was signed.

Master troll up in here and i'm falling for it

You are a fan of tyler thigpen
Chad Henne is on our team and will be in all likely hood
He is still part of the future of this franchise and where we go depends on his performance he is the one of the premier topics that really matters (whether we draft a new qb or keep him will determine the future of our franchise)
Also “Henne apologists” bring up better points than Tyler thigpen apologists do
Tyler is a free agent and will never get a chance since he isn’t good.

Dan Henning is the sole reason the dolphins aren't a Superbowl Caliber team.
GET PETE CARMICHAEL JR. FOR HC RIGHT NOW!
