Michael Vick is the most electric player in the league; He can provide instant offense like no other player in NFL history. Nevertheless, I consider him microwave offense. Pop him in and you heat up your offense instantly, but you don't want to be cooking a meal with him.
Vick is a player with amazing physical skills, he can run & pass as well as anyone, but his QB instincts are mediocre at best. For Vick to be effective at the QB position he has to be effective eluding defenders. This requires him to be 100% healthy physically which is practically impossible in this league considering the amount of contact a QB takes any given Sunday. Vick's number started to take a nose dive at the end of the season, losing 3 in a row, completing less than 60% of his passes and posting a below 80 passer rating. He started to get nagging leg injuries and he lost a step, he could no longer extend plays on blitzes and was forced to read coverage’s quicker. Any QB that can extend a play past 3 seconds will eventually find an open receiver, but when you can't extend the play you have to know who the open man will be, and this is where Vick falls short of being a premier NFL QB.
I'll give him credit he improved DRAMATICALLY this year posting ridiculous numbers. Nevertheless, when the meal required a chef and a slow cook oven the Microwave could not deliver.
