I actually really like this one

My changes would be:

NFC South: SAINTS (I don’t think Atlanta’s surpassed them…yet)
NFC Wild Card: MINNESOTA and WASHINGTON

Also I think our offensive MVP will be Brandon Marshall. I know Sparano maintains his stance that we’ll be a power-running football team, but I can’t see Henne going out and throwing anything less than 30 or so passes a game, and I expect Marshall to get plenty of those looks to make big plays.

Damn, I should have read yours before posting mine

Because they’re almost identical – same super bowl, and even same surprise with the raiders being good.

Now a prediction from an optimistic homer.

AFC East – Miami (This year Ronnie won’t get hurt and Chad Henne becomes a top rated QB. And come on, we have Brandon Marshall! There should be no argument)

AFC North – Baltimore (This team just looks scary from top to bottom and both sides of the ball)

AFC South – Colts (Sanders will make their defense scary and Manning is still their QB)

AFC West – Chargers( Damn they have a crappy division. So they’ll be bounced in the first playoff game mercifully.)

AFC wild cards: Houston and NYJ

NFC East – Dallas (They have a weak division and enough talent to maul it)

NFC North – Green Bay (Everyone’s on their bandwagon for good reason and so am I)

NFC South – Atlanta (Sorry, the NFC South curse will strike again. And the Falcons are
going to be that good)

NFC West – San Francisco ( They’re benefiting from a weak division as well. And I’ve got $100 bucks riding that Bradford will get injured for the season.)

NFC wild cards: Philadelphia and Minnesota

AFC champion – Miami 28 NYJ 17 (Just a dream match up but it would be the most highly rated NFL game in history the way everyone in the media is riding Sancho’s cock.)

NFC champion – Atlanta 38 Green Bay 27 (I actually wanted to put Minnesota here against Green Bay. But didn’t want to because the men at ESPN would literally explode about the possibility of having Sanchez and Old Man Fart duking it out in the Super bowl. It would be some creepy Pedobear gay porn type sh*t.)

SUPER BOWL CHAMPION Miami 24 Atlanta 17 ( Go Dolphins!!!)

Coach of the year Mike Singletary (This guy is most deserving with all the trials and tribulations he’s gone through with this franchise and Vernon Davis.

Offensive ROY – Don’t care cause’ it’s not going to be a Dolphin.

Defensive ROY – Again, Don’t care cause’ it’s not going to be a Dolphin.

Bonus Points….

Dolphins W-L Record:13-3 (I’m drinking the Chad Henne Kool-Aid and keeping my fingers crossed that Ronnie doesn’t have a season ending injury. And mark my words, Bess will make us forget about Wes Welker for good.)

Biggest Surprise: Dolphins win the Super Bowl.

Biggest Flop: Sparano admits he’s in the Mafia?

Fun stuff. Here's mine.

AFC East: Patriots
AFC North: Ravens
AFC South: Colts
AFC West: Chargers
AFC wild cards: Texans & Dolphins

NFC East: Cowboys
NFC North: Packers
NFC South: Falcons
NFC West: 49ers
NFC wild cards: Vikings & Saints

AFC champion: Ravens
NFC champion: Packers

SUPER BOWL CHAMPION: Packers

Coach of the year: Mike McCarthy
Offensive ROY: Jahvid Best
Defensive ROY: Earl Thomas

Bonus Points….
Bold Predictions:
1) The Dolphins get the Wild Card spot, but fail to give Sparano his first playoff win as they are defeated by the Colts. However, Chris Clemons shows that he can be a good ballhawking FS by getting 9 interceptions.

2) Jay Cutler battles Mark Sanchez for the most interceptions thrown title and the Bears move down to the bottom of the NFC North, allowing the Lions to surpass them with 5 wins.

3) The Texans finally upset the Colts in the first round of the playoffs but are eliminated the following week by the Ravens.

4) The Cowboys are unable to handle the pressure of The Emperor Jerry Jones all but guaranteeing Dallas in the Super Bowl and fall to the Vikings in the playoffs.

Dolphins W-L Record: 9-7

Biggest Surprise: Sam Bradford revitalizes the Rams and surprises everyone by leading the team to 7 victories. Steven Jackson leads the league in rushing yards.

Biggest Flop: Sanchez again throws more interceptions than TDs and the Jets defense is disheartened by Revis holding out all season, causing the Jets to fail to make the postseason.

An impressive degree of "non-homerism" among these posts!

I debated the AFC East quite a bit, thinking, on one hand, that Brady/Moss/Welker are going to be a force (again) but the holes at RB & D are big

Pats

always seems to win 10-13 games a year, even win Brady goes down. They make it look easy.

Everybody in the NE wants so bad for the Jets to be this great team, I’m not buying it. If the schedules was reversed, Miami back-peddles into the playoffs. I think they downgraded their RB position by adding LT. Sanchez hasn’t shown me ANYTHING. And they got a pretty tough schedule this year too. I’m not buying Rex Ryan’s lip service. He is like a big loud mouth who tries to intimidate, I’m not impressed.

Miami, always hurts my feelings. We seem to always start out sloe and the 1st part of our schedule is brutal. Doesn’t look like things will change this year.

Buffalo is, well Buffalo. We have 2 good RBs and no OL or QB, so lets take another RB…

Funny you mention the 10-13 wins/year...

as they haven’t had less than the aforementioned number of wins since….2002 and I’m sure we both remember what happened that season with the Pats and Miami too.

FWIW, I picked Miami as the division winner and you know me well enough to understand I’m no homer. I think Miami and NE were close with each team having its strengths/weaknesses, but the pats injuries (Bodden’s loss is huge), Mankins situation, the medicore run game, and the still questionable pass rush…..I think that pushes the balance in our favor.

As skeptical of some of us are about Jason Allen starting, look at NE’s starting corners….Butler & McCourty…….the least experienced starting tandem in the entire league.

Anyway, like you, I don’t buy NY as the most likely division winner by any stretch. There are huge questions about that team. While almost every team has some questions about their roster, NY has more than virtually any team being touted as a big-time contender….I mean we are talking “?’s” at QB, RB, OL…..not exactly insignificant issues!

In fact, I will bet you that some months from now when the jets have predictably flopped, the sports media….which is now touting/hyping the jets down everyone’s throats….will rewrite history and talk of how they knew all along that the jets were vulnerable, how Sanchez was unproven, how their roster had too many question marks…

count on it.
