Ronnie Brown having hamstring issues

Was looking at my fantasy lineups and came across this little nugget:

Offensive coordinator Dan Henning said that Brown has been "nicked," revealing Thursday that the running back dealt with a hamstring issue in Sunday's game against the Jets, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.

Star-divide

Maybe this is why Ricky is getting the ball more than everyone had thought? Maybe this is why we didn't pound the ball against the Jets, even when we are at the 2 yard line? Really concerning to me and just thought everyone should be aware. =/

This makes a lot of sense actually now, and sheds some light onto our situation at the end of the game

but the Fins still had both Ricky and Lousaka to pound the ball at the end of the game! I can understand why they may have been unwilling to give the ball to Ricky, only to have him put the ball on the ground to end the game, but Lou is the best short yardage converter in the whole league! Feed the beast baby! C’mon, you cannot say that they shouldn’t have tried and run the ball up the gut on 2nd or 3rd down. When your in that situation its four down territory anyway, so why not try and pound the ball in once or twice?

saw that too

a nagging hammy would would explain a great deal. I could not understand the ratio of carries when RB has clearly been more effective and more secure with the ball.
I love Ricky and resoect his career, but we need to reduce his carries per game a good bit… At least for now and go with the younger lega. It is a long season and Ricky will certainly get his touches and may even catch another hot streak that will allow us to ride him a bit more. Right now, we need Ronnie touting the rock for a significant majority of the carries.

Dear FO

All I ask for is a Running Back that isn’t old, doesn’t fumble, isn’t burnt out, and doesn’t have chronic injuries.

Thanks- Fox

Ronnie another injury

Ricky 33 and keeps putting the ball on the ground.

Our Backfield needs a overhaul, and we’ll get one after the season. I promise you. Neither one will be here next year.

Been sayin' he needed to go for over a year now.

I really am surprised we didn’t get a late round RB in the draft considering Hilliard stuck it up last year, with the exception of his first game against Carolina. Maybe they expected a lot out of Sheets.

Williams should go not Ronnie

I agree are back field needs some reworking. But I feel like we can and should keep Ronnie… for know. I think putting Ronnie into Ricky’s current role (sending williams down the road) and bring in a new RB stud (Draft). That way we have continuity and not to mention Ronnie would be a fantastic third down back. Ronnie is probably the best RB in the NFL today when it comes to running in traffic. Keeping Ronnie for at least 2 more seasons I think would be good as the 2nd back and 3rd down back. Cobbs is scrap and would rather see Hilliard in his spot. I’m not and never have been keen on Cobbs, especially on special teams.

In a nut shell… shuffle the order… can williams and put Ronnie in williams spot and get fresh legs in the draft…. can Cobbs and move Hilliard to Cobbs spot.

Thats got to be one of the biggest falsehoods I've ever heard on this site,

in fact he is rarely nicked up, it’s ok to not like a player but to make stuff up about him to try and bolster your point……………

right, it would be nice to have an effective all around back, as your veteran back.

Let Ronnie take Ricky’s snaps. Ronnie does everything very well.

Stop hating

on Ronnie, He’s our man until that “other foot drops” or until he is released. He didnt seem hurt on his late 4th quarter run, in fact it was the longest of the day and correct me if I am wrong, his second or third longest run of the season. As a die hard Phin fan, I take a dinged up Ronnie over any running back in the league at the moment.

That's exactly how I'm thinking this one will go

Does not explain why Lou did not get the ball , his hamstring is fine!

Ronnie will be gone and should be, we will keep ricky for cheap. Ricky has always had issues with the ball, but people over look it because he still gets lots of yards when played enough. Our OC should try something other than the same plays over and over.We probably wont get a stud next year in the draft they will be gone by our pick. we will continue to use a 3 or 4 headed running attack. Less wear and tear and less incentives for pay out.Look everywhere BP has been, they are still using atleast 3 running back at each place. And TS is his clone and will do the same a big soild hard running RB that wont out run realy anybody but will always fall forward.

We need a new OC.

We’ve needed a new one the moment we got a QB that could throw it deep… one who was also inexperienced at calling his own plays.

they dont look like Chris Johnson, Adrian Peterson, Arian Foster, Rashard Mendenhall, Jamaal Charels, Felix Jones… maybe we need a fresh back.

RBs

I really don’t believe either Ricky OR Ronnie will be back next year. Ronnie turns 30 next year, Ricky turns 34. That would probably be the oldest set of feature backs in the league. Runner’s are like cars, when they get so many miles you need to trade them in. I believe we’ve already begun to see the decline in Ricky, he’s still a good back but hardly the player he once was and the fumbling is troublesome. That’s not meant to be a knock on him, it’s just a fact of life in the NFL. As for Ronnie, he’ll be a free agent after this year and will be looking for a big, long term deal. I don’t think we should give it to him. He’s only had one thousand yard season in five, and that was barely with 1,008 a couple years back. he’s been injured in 4 out of his 5 years and frankly, I just don’t think he’s an elite back. He’s a good-very good back but not elite, my God, how did he NOT go 99 yards against the Vikings’ after that huge hole and only ONE defender to beat with an entire football field to work with! Honestly, Ronnie is probably not even a top 20 back in the league, hardly worth the 4-5 year, 25-30 million dollar deal he’ll probably want. Again, this is not a knock on him, just the facts. New, younger legs at the position will be needed next year.

Damn, ease up dog, RB has given us 110% every time he plays and I haven't seen a rb go

99yds in a long time. While we need to build for the future, a mentor will be most needed in the development of new talent and who’s to say our draft pick at rb pans out? AP is a good back and he fumbles more than anyone, I bet you would take him though. RB is a fin and hopefully he leads us to the playoff, because right now, he is probably our only hope looking at the depth of our defense.

Damn the sheriff, Bring on MARSHALL LAW

nicely said....

Ronnie is a keeper for at least 2 more seasons. I would like to see Williams go and see a good solid draft pick for RB to start as a feature back or be able to work him into are feature back during the season as we keep Ronnie to keep continuity at that position. Ronnie would be fantastic to have in a support role like what Ricky is doing right now. In-fact I can not think of a better RB out there to have as a support role than Ronnie. Fantastic in crucial downs, good traffic runner, could make a good 3rd down back, and of course a hard worker with good work ethic. Ronnie in my eyes is a must keep back. He’ll be good on are team for 2 more years…. but not as a feature back.
