Well it's never really a good feeling to lose, but it's even worse when it comes at the hands of the Jets. Here's some topics from the game.

Sometimes the obvious choice is the best choice

I don't care if it's double, triple, or quadruple coverage throw Brandon Marshall the ball! He is our best redzone option; Why wouldn't we throw the ball to a guy who had 10 TD's last year? This is what he gets paid the big dollars for. We brought in guys like Karlos Dansby and Marshall to help us finish games. We saw Dansby finish a game for us last week, and this week should have been Marshall's turn.

Cornerstone

Though I don't buy into all the "shutdown" corner hype with him, Darrelle Revis is a hell of a corner. And his presence missed by the Jets and beneficial to the Dolphins. Our passing game was slacking these past to weeks, and finally showed some life yesterday. After Revis and Cromartie the depth at corner is very suspect for the Jets. It left guys like Hartline and Bess wide open to make catches. Now we also got to be real. If Revis is on Marshall, then that means Cromartie is on our #2 and it might be a different game passing wise for us.

Speaking of Corners

Haha I knew this day would come. After last night people were quick to hop of the Jason Allen bandwagon as quick as they hopped on. For starters, he lost his footing on a routine tackle and it turned out to be a big play (Not to mention it was in the same area where the grass was recently sodded). Next to Vontae, Allen is the best tackling corner we have, so had he kept his feet we wouldn't be having this conversation. For the most part Allen had pretty good coverage all night. Another thing people don't realize is that Allen has great ball skills, so if he didn't haul in a INT then you know it was a hard catch. I would understand if a ball was thrown directly at him, and he dropped it but that wasn't the case. Hell we should be happy these are deflections and not completions.

Jet Killer Anyone?

Say what you want about the man, but he was a big reason why we won 3 straight games against the Jets.

  1. 2 receptions for 71 yards and a TD (week 17, 2008)
  2. 53 yard reception TD don by 3 in the 4th quarter (week 5, 2009)
  3. 2 kick return TDs (week 8, 2009)

Primetime

This goes back to last years games with the New Orleans Saints and the Indianapolis Colts. We played these teams to the wire. Although we lost, It's that type of competitive play that people want to see. And because we are displaying some good football on primetime, expect to see this team get some more primetime games in the future (hell we have another primetime game next week).
