Darrelle Revis has strained hamstring, could miss 1-2 weeks
Revis wouldn't rule himself out of this week's game against the Dolphins. But he did say he wouldn't return until he was 100%. So there's a very good chance Revis will miss Sunday's game in Miami.

Revis missing is a big deal
Cromartie isn’t nearly as physical as Revis, and Marshall will have a big day if 8-6-5 is on him all day long. I also feel like that bumps everyone up a spot, so Bess will have a huge mismatch if we go 3-wide.
Revis out also means Rex will back off the exotic overload blitzes because he doesn’t have his lockdown corner in there to shut half the field off. Those blitzes, and the threat of them when they don’t come, are a huge reason why their defense is so good. When they are asked to sit back in coverage and pressure with 4, the lack of talent at key positions is exposed, especially at the 2 safety spots. I don’t think neither of their safeties are very good, but they benefit from being able to react on their first read, knowing the QB has to get the ball out.

Lmao
Cromartie is probably crying right now. Marshall has his number. Kyle Wilson will probably be on Hartline, and that should leave Bess open against their 3rd CB all day.

I heard about Marshall having Cromarties number too but then I saw this article today

From what I've seen, Marshall has been a real problem for Cromartie
And a few notes on those numbers posted. One, the Broncos started SEVEN running backs in 2008, and their ground game that year was pathetic (remember when we went to Denver and beat them Halloween weekend that year?). Two, one of Marshall’s games against SD was MNF last season, and the Chargers didn’t have any answer for him that night. So while these numbers suggest Paternity Cromartie is tough against B. Marsh, I’ve never EVER seen Marshall struggle against the Chargers. And that Week 17 contest in 2008 was the Jay Cutler meltdown game, so there’s more to that story than No.31 locking down Brandon Marshall. If Marshall can take Nnamdi Asomugha, he can beat Antonio Cromartie.

It's not as big of a deal as you think
Buffalo had a good secondary but Minnesota was banged up. The Vikings best corner was Antoine Winfield. After that you have a suspect Lito Sheppard and a rookie in Asher Allen. Yet despite that fact I still aint see Bess or any other receiver go off on that secondary.
And Rex is going to blitz regardless Revis or not. Hell their secondary actually played better with Revis out of the game.

their secondary played better because they didn't blitz as much
Rex doesn’t blitz NEARLY as much or with as many player without Revis as he does with.

Yep. It's pretty much like putting the training wheels back on your defense
Also, the Jets haven’t seen the new and improved Jason Allen at corner, so that’s a big advantage for us. Favre thought he could break him, and he paid for it. And the Jets have used Keller ad nauseam against us in years prior, but I expect that to change this year.

Teams need to figure out QUICK that Sanchez locks in on Keller

Edwards is too big a poonani to fend off his VD.

Obviously, this is nice to hear
But Henne will still have to make his throws to take advantage of this. Hopefully he can do so.

Actually
Marshall took the blame for that one. Henne had to throw early and if Marshall was looking it was a easy TD for him.
No big deal. We got in the end zone on that drive
And all it cost me was fantasy points :-(

Rex Ryan is never going to give credit to the other team.
It’s just not in his nature. When the Jets lose, it’s always going to be because of something the Jets did wrong, never because the other team did something right or was just better than them.
To some degree, you kinda want your HC to have that attitude. On the other hand, it kinda makes you an a-hole. And since Rex is an a-hole in just about every other way, it comes across as pure a-holery, instead of as a coach focusing on the team he coaches.
Well he is an A-Hole so............

ugly is good as long as its looking at ryans and sancheezes ugly crying faces
but they do have a decent defense, of course against the pattys(which were looking pretty weak) it might bode well for us in week 4 . week 3 though i was thinking we’ve been doing just enough to win, at home against the jests…… orange out nite they might just open the playbook up and expose the jests as the media hyped phoneys they are
thats what happens when you miss so much of training camp and pre-season
he’s not in football shape right now. Dolphins will beat the jets.
I still belive we must run the ball on them
Without Jenkins it is a must to wear down their DLine and test if they can hold on to R&R. Henne and Marshal will come as natural if this happens.
In the other hand his OLine probably took a big blow with Mangold. Soliai or/and Starks should push hard and often in the middle if thats the case.

resident jets fan as you all know
you guys have a right to be proud with a solid two games to start the year. i thought it was a tough draw to get minnesota at home for you. however, i think the AFC East is really interesting this year. i actually have no idea what to make of any of the three teams. the Pats look great one week, then looked lost against the Jets. the Jets looked tight in week 1 and then played what i thought was the best game i’ve seen out of any AFC East team this year (because of the scheduling I’ve been able to watch every AFC East game played). then you have Miami who had the free win in week 1 (though didn’t look great) and beat one of the most enigmatic squads in football this year. i think if both teams play their best the Jets will win, but i think Miami is a more consistent squad right now. as for the matchups- i think we saw last week that the Jets’ D will absolutely not be crippled by losing Revis (and this could all be head games anyways). the Pats have a far more prolific passing offense than the Phins and they looked great without Revis as surprising as that may sound. i think the biggest weakness of the Jets D is the inability to cover a TE (Todd Heap and Aaron Hernandez went off against the Jets D). i don’t know that the Dolphins have the personnel to exploit that right now, but we shall see. I personally don’t know what to make of these two teams right now, but…if the Jets play like they did last week and Miami plays like they did the first two weeks, the Jets will roll the Phins. if the Phins play like they did the first two weeks and the Jets play like they did the first week, the Phins will probably have the last laugh. i personally think a lot of game 1 was jitters for the Jets, with them opening up the playbook, sanchez was great.
also to the Vontae Davis (5’11") fans- he’s looked great so far, but Braylon Edwards (6’4") is not Greg Lewis (5’11"), nor percy harvin (5’11"), nor Lee Evans (5’10"), and whatever other dreck the Bills fielded. make fun of Braylon for past drops in Cleveland, but he looked unstoppable the other day simply being much bigger than the DBs. he is two years removed from a pro bowl and i think it’s a little early to say he sucks or will be abused by Vontae Davis. i’m not saying Braylon will have a huge day, just saying that’s going to be a more interesting matchup than you are giving credit to.

This will be a defensive battle. I don’t expect either offense to put up many points. I do expect INT’s if Sanchez tries to open it out. This will be a grinding game. I don’t expect the Jets to win unless Miami shoots itself in the foot. We shall see
Can't remember the last time Miami had so much talent.

the Jets will roll the Phins
I guess your underestimating the Phins defense huh?

Respectfully disagree...as you probably expect
Nice to see a jets fan with class and atleast some football knowledge(don’t know ya bra), i’ve watched every AFC east game as well, and while you guys did look good against the patsies, thats definately because that defense has no secondary, no pass rush, and is very weak against the run. Im curious to see how sanchez does with the rush bearing down on him and corners that can cover.
The way i see it, if sanchez is forced to beat us, we’ll have a 2 game lead on you guys with you calling for brunell or clemens again.
I just find it funny that the Jets are puffing their chest out because their offense did something against an atrocious Patriots defense
the Bills have a better defense than the Patriots right now. If your on the Dolphins you want Sanchez to try and beat you. Stop the run game and stop Keller and you shut down that team offensively.
I probably know Judo! How many of you can make the same boast?

And we can stop the run!

first of all
i wasn’t puffing out my chest at all, try reading what i said before making a judgment about the validity. you can honestly tell me that the phins won in Minni was a better performance than the one the Jets won against the Pats. that was an ugly game by all accounts. i’m not discounting the victory, just saying the Jets played better this week than the Phins did. that’s not really a huge stretch- the Jets beat the crap out of a team that many were considering to be very good after thumping the bengals and the Phins beat a team with high expectations that had a QB who threw it to the defense every play. as for the pats D, they beat the hell out of the bengals in week 1 and only gave up points when the game got out of control. the bills defense is nowhere close to that, they got mercy ruled in GB after holding the Phins to 13 (15 if you want to throw in the intentional safety).
i’m actually not that worried about the result of this game, i figured without santonio, pace, pool, and what i thought would be a weaker revis at least to start the season. i could accept 2-2 with the tough schedule and would be happy with 3-1. remember, with revis weakened- the jets have been without their best CB (an all pro), best pass rusher in Pace (pro bowler), best WR (a super bowl MVP), and their free safety who actually came back and looked good last week.

Not really worried about the outcome either.
Alot of teams were considered very good that don’t seem so now. Nobody knows anything until about week 8 in the NFL. The patriots defense will be destroyed over and over again all season long, you can bet all your draft picks on that (probly a better use for them). Speaking of draft picks, when you have none you have no youth and no depth. Which causes people like you to automatically come in making excuses for your team incase you lose so you can sleep better.
Either way im excited to be going and hopefully it will be a great game… or a miami blowout :)
P.S. probly not a good idea to get excited for the Sanchises season yet… hasn’t even played a road game yet. Just a tip
he won a couple road games
last year….in the playoffs, in case you missed that one. i do agree that no one really knows anything until week 8-10. to speak to the Jets draft picks, they have plenty of good depth guys through FA and UDFAs (Mangold went out- Turner didn’t miss a beat, Revis went out- Cromartie locked down Moss and others stepped up behind, LT looks great behind Greene, Pro Bowl NT Jenkins gone for the season- answer with Pouha and Devito, Pace goes out and JT has a strip sack to end the game last week). How much more depth can you have? The Jets have now lost 4 of their top 7 defensive players at some point this season (Revis, Jenkins, Pace, and Pool) and will likely be without all but Pool this weekend. Take Vontae Davis, Cameron Wake, your best DT and your starting FS off the field and see if that D holds the Pats to 14. If anything this past game showed phenomenal depth by the Jets D.

If by he won you mean
He paid the opposing teams kickers to miss about everything then yes i agree with you. You guys played the bungels who had obviously played their best football LOOONG before you played them. They lost 4 of their last 7, beating the chiefs the browns and the lions OH MY. Forget how many FG’s were missed by them in that game but im pretty sure it was atleast 2. Then you played the chargers who you guys did good to slow down, but can thank Nate Kaeding for missing THREE field goals. By the way you guys won by 3.. so thanks Nate.
Sanchez played ok against the bungels not doing anything stupid.. but im sure when u only throw the ball a handful of times thats pretty easy (see Chad Henne 2010).
Against the Chargers he was a whopping 12 for 23 for 100 yds a TD and a Pick… yea he really took it to em.
Don’t mean to shoot you down from your perch all the way up there but the patriots have obviously been dysfunctional in the second half of games so far. Their offense scored a whopping 7 points in the second half against a REALLY GOOD bengels D, while their defense gave up 21. And please don’t try and tell me the patriots relaxed in the second half because its bill f’’king belicheat and hes as aggressive as they come.
Anyway im done trying to mix oil and water, Goodluck on your season.. im sure you will be very happy at the end of it.
I guess he should have been in training camp,....
And maybe then he would be in proper shape. They say conditioning is everything,…
