28's random thoughts. Vol. 1

Alright, lets start off with why I haven't been around lately, it's because of personal reasons, I have felt weird lately and just wanted to keep to myself for awhile, it's a little mood I get in every now and then. So.. now that that's out of the way, let's get started. My thoughts on all of this "CLS" stuff goes in a couple different directions. I think a lot of people overreact about foolish things, like Henne's performance Friday for example. And then I think that other people are being way too uptight about people having concerns or questions on this team. It's like a lesson learned on South Park, for those of you who seen the episode on what our fore fathers would do when war calls. Having some people stick out their chest makes us seem confident, unafraid. While some people are concerned and question things. If all of us here were confident about the Dolphins, we would come off as cocky fans who think we will without question win every game, like a certain division rivals fans come off like.. You know... Those guys... And if we all question our team and have no faith, then who will have faith in our team? Having people who are confident with what we have AND people who question things together make our fan base tolerable, I've heard from the Bengals blog nothing but good things in regard to Dolphins' fans.

Another thing that I have noticed is people wanting Antonio Bryant, Vincent Jackson, etc... We went out and got a top tier wideout, we don't need those guys and it would kill our overall team when the salary cap comes back. So lets just worry about making cuts and concentrating on who we have on our team as of now..

With the college football season a few days away, I have been thinking of possible players on who the Dolphins' may get. Although I think it's way too early to try and figure out what our real weaknesses may be come the draft, I have a new mind set going into this year. I looked for players to fill the "holes" on this team. But come draft day, we got Jared Odrick, a player playing a position that I thought we were pretty set at. So the way I'm thinking about it now is to keep an eye out on all kinds of players, our FO works in mysterious ways, and you never have any idea who playing on Saturdays this fall may be playing on Sundays for the Dolphins next season.

And my last random thought is the feeling I have gotten recently. Every time this year I can just smell football season in the air, as I'm sure we all can. But this year has been different, for the first time in 10 years I am not playing football myself, there are no playing under the lights for me anymore, or no more being with friends out on the practice field. Also, I have never felt this way going into a Dolphins' season. I don't think we are a Super Bowl caliber team yet (even though I pray I'm wrong) but we're getting closer and closer every season. Just a few years ago we were 1-15, and in only 3 years we have become a real contender. And this year will be my second ever Dolphins' game, so I am freaking stoked!

That's all from me for now folks. Go Dolphins.
