2010 Fantasy Football Draft Discussion Forum

What’s up everyone, if you clicked on this post then most likely you too are preparing for the 2010 Fantasy Football draft.  Last year, I posted a fantasy football article where we exchanged our ideas, commented on players we hated / loved and also mixed in some good old Miami Dolphin talk.

I hope that this year we can do the same because last year was able to win my league after battling through a plethora of injuries only to pull it out in the end.  I lost Michael Turner and Ronnie Brown to major injuries as well as Anthony Gonzalez of the Colts on the first play of the season.  Preparing myself with trades and late round drafting I was able to start Freddie Jackson, Justin Forsett and Ahmad Bradshaw in the playoffs.  Granted, my running back staff was not my asset, my team lead was lead by Kurt Warner, Brandon Marshall, Anquan Boldin and Steve Smith (NYG).

That is simply history, it was nice to win last year but all I want is to do it again!  My league is highly competitive, “expensive”(no one should be gambling on sports) and most importantly: a ton of fun.  I would compare it to the Supreme Court; we will always have the same members until someone passes away.

Let’s get down to business; I have the #10 Pick on August 21, 2010. So, throw me out some names!  Right now, I am considering going WR-WR in a 12 team league or maybe QB-WR or if the right people fall RB-WR.  We have a 12 team league, non-keeper and obviously use a snake draft.

Here are the players I have in mind:

Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Randy Moss, Michael Turner, Larry Fitzgerald, Brandon Marshall, Calvin Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Miles Austin, Steven Jackson, Roddy White… any many more.

I don’t know if anyone enjoys Fantasy Football like I do but my friends refer to fantasy draft day as “the Christmas Morning of the summer.”

Hope to hear from you all soon,  Go Dolphins!!!

If anyone plays in an Auction league

I’ve written a pretty kick ass draft spreadsheet that I’m more than happy to share once I finish updating it.

So there I was.....asleep when it happened.....the buzzing of the blackberry woke me up....still groggy, I rubbed my eyes, and read the incoming email.
BRANDON MARSHALL IS A DOLPHIN!
Then I had a beer....took the day off work, and bought a box of condoms.
Its going to be a long night for my wife.

I missed my draft unfortunately

I found that I had auto-drafted Favre, and Josh Johnson as my QB’s. Not Josh FREEMAN mind you. not to mention V. Jackson so my team is already in trouble just as training camp is starting.

MY point is Don’t miss your Draft!!!!! You will not like what you end up with

That is awesome!

I am the only true football fan in my circle so I don’t have that option

Don't get Brees

Madden Curse+ Aaron Rodgers is better at that spot + very good qbs in later rounds
Don’t get Marshall it is a little high to be taking him (I want him too but drafting 10 just sucks for that) Don’t get reggie wayne he is old and decrepit
Aaron Rodgers Calvin Johnson Miles Austin Roddy White randy moss I think those guys are worth getting (I personally like romo as a fantasy option> than Brees not in the 1st round)

I think Turner bounces back to a good year,

and watch out for Ryan Matthews in San Diego, That guy could light it up!! He is coming into a great situation, unlike CJ Spiller in Buffalo,

NO REGGIE WAYNE?! Are you crazy or what?

How do you consider him old and decrepit when he starts every game and gives you 1,000 yds every year??

He's terrible for the playoffs though...

Since the Colts usually rest their starters. Just when you need him, he can’t produce because he’s on the bench.

I wouldn't draft Reggie Wayne....

The only 2 on the Colts I’d take is Manning and Clark…..

Reggie Wayne is sporadic.

Dallas Clark gets more TD looks than anyone on that team.
He also happens to be in the upper echelon of TEs in the league.

Drafting Dallas Clark is like drafting a 3rd #1 WR.

i think I like Gates more than Clark

Clark has too many weapons around him, Gates is basically the #1 WR in SD

I picked # 9 in 10 team league and picked A. Johnson

Next pick I went RB and got S. Jackson, it was either him or R. Matthews. I even got Marshall in the 3rd and Henne even later. If Brees is there I say don’t be like the Dolphins and take him.

You should've taken Matthews over Jackson.

Jackson is going to see 8 to 9 in the box on every down, forcing alot of 3rd and long(6yds or longer) thus needing to throw the ball and punting alot. Now if there were a category for punters, I’d take St. louis punter. I think he is going to eclipse the record for most punts in a season by their bye week

I kinda think so too, the more I read into it.

My first thought was Sproles is gonna share time, and S. Jackson is like a workhorse. I don’t even know another Rams RB off the top of my head.

Marshall and Welker are the best then

At QB I like Rodgers.

He only threw 7 picks last year and had 30 td’s. He’s been steady since he started and still plays if he is hurt. Brees had a good TD to int ratio too. We lose points for int so it matters.

it's AMAZING what he does with that horrid o-line
