AP source: Vikings acquire Camarillo from Dolphins

The Vikings acquired receiver Greg Camarillo from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for cornerback Benny Sapp (notes) on Wednesday, one day after signing veteran free agent Javon Walker FULL STORY

Well, I wish I could say this comes as a surprise, but many of us have been expecting something like this to happen with Cammy for a while now. As reliable as Camarillo has been for the Dolphins, he is a possession receiver and his skill set is just too similar to that of fellow WR Davone Bess.

We will always love you here in Miami Greg! You saved us from a perfect failure of a season, and you will always be remembered for that.

God I remember yelling that name from the stands on 12/16/07. I wish nothing but the best of luck to you. Thanks for that catch that kept us out of a WINLESS season. I hate to see you go, but you’ll be just fine in the purple and gold. Best luck to you and thanks for the memories…..and catching every ball thrown to you last year, jajaja. Surprised that they picked up Camarillo...

though not surprised they traded for a receiver since Sidney Rice got injured.

Greg was always a true professional here and I admired his work ethic and dedication to the game. And I bet few of us will forget his memorable TD catch against Baltimore a few years ago in what was otherwise a nightmare season.

thats who. this guy has been clutch for us time and again. speed and size are not every thing. this guy got the catch when we needed, got the first down when needed, saved our season when needed. he is a dedicated football player and will surely be missed here in miami… now its time to get cam as a late round pick for fantasy football cause you know brett will make him look good.

This trade brings about some concerns about or Depth in general.

It seems about a few weeks ago there was a lot of chatter about how much depth this years Dophins team was developing. Now there seems to be a few question marks re-emerging such as Offensive Line and Secondary. Is this team that stacked at WR or is it really that bad of a situation for the secondary> this is a good yet complex question in deed. I myself think its a little of both.

Truth be told, I think I would have rather seen Bess go. We could have gotten more in return, and there isn’t that big a drop off, if any. I am in a lifetime fantasy league, where you keep all your players year, to year, and Greg has had, and will continue to have a home on my team, for as long as he still plays.

Lifetime Phin fan married to a Minnesotan, so I watch 2 teams every week. I like this deal for both teams, as the D-backs in Miami are still catching up in Nolan’s system, and for the Vikes with Rice out and Harvin hurting they are a little thin at WR right now. Yes, we’ll miss Greg more than the Vikes will miss Sapp, probably…..
