Roster Bubble: QB Z

HB: Ronnie Brown (+), Ricky Williams (+), Patrick Cobbs (+), Lex Hilliard (+)

LG: Donald Thomas (+), Richie Incognito (-)

C: Jake Grove (+), Joe Berger (=)

RG: John Jerry (++)

RT: Vernon Carey, Lydon  Murtha

Garner will make this team, probably at the expense of Murtha. Incognito needs to do better or his stay here will be short lived after this season's draft.

LCB: Vontae DavisJason Allen, Nolan Carroll (- -)

Roster Bubble: Reshad Jones (-)

SS: Yeremiah Bell (+), Tyrone Culver (=),

Defense: 25

K: DC$

P: Fields

LS: Denney

ST: 3

There are one open roster spot, and it is taken by Garner.

Some observations:

Brandon Marshall: Looked like the great WR we all know him to be, and is great at blocking downfield.

Brian Hartline: Dropped a pass, but made one nice grab.

Cammy: Didn't really play (or just never saw him), but his job is on the line if Moore continues to impress and Turner can impress like he did in week one.

Lousaka Polite: IS BACK BABY!

Garner: Will make the final cut, but I don't know how long the injury will be. Spot is open for him

Will Allen: Will take away one of our young CB's roster spot, he is just injured untill week one.

Dobbins: Don't know the extent of the injury and the other ILBs are looking good. He looked lost in coverages at times, some guys were wide open and he was out of place or the receiver just out ran him. Did 'ok' in run support.

Johnson: looked solid and a little more mobile than most thought he would be. He didn't help himself last night, but didn't hurt himself either.

Spitler: Played like a rookie. simple as that

Amaya: Playing his way on the roster.

Ness: Very impressed with this young guy and hope he makes this team.

ST: coverage was awful.

Henne: Looking great and spreading the ball around.

Jason Allen: Made a play on ST, but over pursued and got beat a couple of times too.

Davis: Hopefully his in-game injury is nothing and he is back on the field soon.

Anderson: Spitler might lose his roster spot to Anderson if he can't elevate his level of play.

Post Script: We got a lot of deep talent at WR, RB, DB, NT, ILB, DE, WOLB IMO.

P.P.S. Get used to these four guys we have right now, they are likely going to be here and might all be active on Sunday, if Lex continues to impress. (Lex has the highest YPC with 3.1)

I hope they give him more of a chance this year.

There's a gray area we're not quite sure of.

Turner was on the 53 man roster all year, but he was not on the 45 man active game day roster all year long. We’re not sure which is the active roster. I’ll see if I can get clarification somewhere.

Players who do not have an accrued season of NFL Experience
Free Agents who were on the active list for less than 9 games in their accrued season.

It states active roster. Each team has a 53 man active roster which he was a part of.

Being inactive on game day is not a part of the equation.

Camarillo is how his name is spelled.

A few changes I’d make:

Martin has been playing with the first team. He’ll beat out Nalbone and Haynos easily.

Incognito has been playing with the first team. I think Thomas has fell out of favor, and is going to be a back up.

Charlie Anderson has the edge over Walden at this point. Walden is only getting 3rd team reps.

As far as I know, Dobbins isn’t injured and started the last preseason game.

Jones played both back up FS and SS last game. I’d say that flexibility gives him an edge over everyone except maybe Culver.

I used to think I had a drinking problem.
So I stopped thinking.

I also believe Haynos did play, just didn't register any stats.

I used to think I had a drinking problem.
So I stopped thinking.

by luvs2drnk on Aug 23, 2010 2:24 PM EDT up reply actions

I should have known that, i C&P'ed the list from my first one.

Martin: He is a veteran with an injury. The only thing Martin has over Nalbone is receiving ability, as Nalbone is a very good blocker. Martin has played in two games, one more than Nalbone, but has no catches, while Nalbone has one. This FO doesn’t care who you are, just ask JT and ZT. Haynos didn’t get any recs, but that isn’t his claim to fame, blocking is. So Nalbone has shown more than Martin i the passing game so far. Martin is coming off of a season ending injury and is old, not a good combinaion with this FO.

C. Anderson has 0 sacks and Walden has one. Wal;den also is a very crucial proponent to our punt coverage team. Walden is slightly outperforming Anderson ion defense, and contributes on STs.

Ness can play both FS and CB, and has made plays. Jones has been absent in the secondary, ( he leading the team in tackles is he playing STs? If he didn’t get those tackles on STs, i’ll change it as that was an oversight) but he is and people behind him have been proving their worth. This FO has no problem putting a 5th RDer on the PS, but only if he isn’t proving anything in PS.

Dobbins was injured, but played awful in coverage and didn’t make up for Spitler’s and Johnson’s play thus far. Dobbins was ‘ok’ against the run and slow in coverage. I see him more as an Eric Green and he won’t be around long if the rookies play like they did in the first game. In the second game, Spitler played like a rookie and that led to his fall on my depth chart.

Incognito was playing second team this last game (he was in i saw him, and the line was all white, so he had to be playing) and we struggled running. That doesn’t help his case.

just my reasoning.

I don't mind being ogled, ridiculed, made to feel minuscule. If you consider the source, it's kinda pitiful.

Ok, let me break this down for ya'.

Martin is a proven receiving TE in the NFL. How many NFL catches does Nalbone have? 0. One preseason catch does not make you a receiving threat. That’s why Martin was playing with the first string offense as the 2nd TE.

Anderson plays ST as well. He also is the first LB to come in if either Wake or Misi go down. It’s why they had him taking first team reps at the beginning of OTAs.

Ness made nice plays in the first game, but did nothing the second. Jones hasn’t done anything wrong in the secondary that I’ve noticed, and the fact we’ve not had any long TD plays against the D while he’s on the field means he’s doing his job.

What plays has Spitler and Johnson made worth mentioning? Making plays one game against 3rd and 4th stringer just assures you a job. It doesn’t vault you up the depth chart to becoming the backup. Which is exactly what Dobbins, is as he started in place of Crowder. Eric Green was a vet they signed because they didn’t know how well Davis and Smith would transition to the NFL. Dobbins was a vet they specifically asked for in the trade with SD. Completely different situations.

Incognito may have played with the second team, but he also started with the starters. Did you watch the game?

I used to think I had a drinking problem.
So I stopped thinking.

by luvs2drnk on Aug 24, 2010 9:02 AM EDT up reply actions

Now you can see the analogy.

Dobbins is a vet they brought in because they weren’t sure how Edds and Spitler would transition. Dobbins is a poor version of crowder, and is even worse in coverage.

Martin is a speed guy coming off a serious leg injury. Look at ZT’s last full season starting for the dolphins, it is 2006. he had 103 tackles. In 2007 he had 52 tackles in five games, on track for about 160 tackles. They cut him due to injury, and being old didn’t help. JT’s last season before getting traded was a 11 sack season, 8 PD, 1INT-TD. This FO likes their youth and health. If martin can’t get back to form, he won’t make this roster.

I don't mind being ogled, ridiculed, made to feel minuscule. If you consider the source, it's kinda pitiful.
