We've all heard that saying by yours truly. But think about it for a sec: It's been about 3 years since Sparano and the boys came to town. We understand that 2009 was clearly a year of struggles, of a team who had a lot of potential, but clearly left more to be desired on the field.
Now this year Miami has the ability to jump to greatness. Why do I say so? The state of the AFC East. Let's see: First off, the Jets have been the media attraction, especially with the contract holdout of Revis. You would think he would sign on soon, but if he doesn't, the defense becomes just solid. The Patriots on offense are always a threat, with Brady back at the helm. The Bills, well...... they're the Bills.
So, with that brief assessment, one could say that Miami could very well restake their claim as potential champions of the division. They could probably draw with NE, with NYJ following closely behind.
On WQAM among other places, its been said by people that not until 2011 will this team finally be able to reach a Super Bowl or really even be elite. While it is true, that there are still some final holes to be pluggled in, the truth of the matter is that with the presence of Marshall as a proven WR, and with the infusion of youth, playmaking prowess, and a clever coordinator in Nolan, there is a chance that this team could very well find itself playing in late January.
We all know the potential Miami has. So the question is in 2010, Will the leap to greatness be closer than we thought?
I think it is
So, to reiterate : WHY NOT US?????
