Poor guy. They apparently kicked in full bore after his Grandma passed away.

Yeah, my gf gets them.
I can’t imagine the feeling but if she stays in bed for 18 hrs they must be brutal.

I get them too....not as bad as I did in my teens but they are horrible.
If someone whispers in China I swear to god it hurts.
I used to pull my hair while trying to fall asleep because it hurt less than the headache.
Hate them.

So there I was.....asleep when it happened.....the buzzing of the blackberry woke me up....still groggy, I rubbed my eyes, and read the incoming email.

Then I had a beer....took the day off work, and bought a box of condoms.
Its going to be a long night for my wife.
I still get headaches for "female" reasons, have for about 40 years...
When a headache I had was so bad I was throwing up, then threw up blood is when a doctor FINALLY gave me a prescription for a “triptan” (Imitrex, Zomig, etc.), which is the ONLY thing that keeps them under control for me.
Sounds like Harvin needs some Imitrex!
Tunaflipper, get your GF to go to the doctor and she needs to tell him she needs something like Imitrex to get rid of the headaches. sometimes aspirin or ibuprofen simply isn’t enough. If she has to stay in bed all day, she needs this medicine.
If she can’t afford these medications—they are very expensive, about $20 a pill!—I know a place she can get them for about $4 a pill. ProgressiveRX, at:
www.progressiverx.com The meds come from India, but they are the same meds you’s get in the US. or, maybe she can get them at Walmart for $4, but they must be GENERIC, no brand names. Hope this helps.
Oh yeah, she's got meds!
She takes one pill daily and then if one’s coming she takes a different one.

imitrex didn't work for me at all....
not even the shots.
Now, whenever I get the slightest hint of a headache, I take 5 Excedrin Migraine, slam some caffeine, and then put a hot rice pack over my eyes and try to fall asleep. Its horrible.

I am so sorry Imitrex doesn't help!
Honestly I don’t know what I would do without it…I would not be able to function when I get headaches. the key is to take it the first sign of getting a headache…you can’t wait until it is full blown.
I know how he feels
Migrains suck, i get them all the time, but they don’t put me in the hospital

That episode of mine DID put me in the hospital!
They gave me a CT scan to determine of my throwing up blood had damaged anything…they found a scarred duodenum tissue (which goes from the stomach into small intestine). On rare occasions, I still throw up, but not bad enough to throw up blood.
For the most part, Imitrex works fine for me…the ones I get I can cut in half, 100 mg to 50 mg. I also usually take an ibuprophen with it.
Here's another headache story
Once we were in El Paso at a house party and I got one of my headaches, and it was a pool party so I also got water in my left ear! The three hours drive home was terrible, and when I got home I immediately took another imitrex and went to bed with the ear on a heating pad (it was June and hot as heck). Well, low and behold I got stung by a scorpion!
About ten minutes later, the ear unclogged and the headache started going away!
