While hanging with Curtis yesterday he said, " you wanna know how I ended up in Miami ?". Sure I said. As most of you know Danny Thomas was a minority owner with Joe Robbie when the Dolphins where founded, Danny was also a Toledoan. Curtis said the player personal for the Dolphins was a family member of Danny's. I think he said Brother or Uncle, anyways he also being from Toledo he wanted someone from Toledo on the team. Curtis was a standout athlete for The University of Toledo Rockets and just like that he was a 4th round pick in the 1970 draft. 

When I mentioned how many Ohioans where on those teams Curtis informed me that most of the coaching staff where Ohioans as well. It seems, Shula being yet another Ohioan, brought most of the coaches from the Buckeye State. Go figure.....No wonder why I love this team so much, it's history is Ohio filled.
