Sparano Speak

Stay connected for news and updates

I love listening to Coach Sparano speak, he has his own way of speaking, his accent is comfortable for me because he is from the same corner of the country as I am, he is not the most articulate guy, he isn't forthcoming, (to say the least) but I do feel like you get some info if you listen enough, and try to hear the message inbetween the message.

I listen to every press conference he has, I am trying to get to know his "tells", everybody has them, or as Vincent Coccotti calls them, the pantomime,

"there are 17 different things a guy can do when he lies, to give himself away, guys got 17 "pantomimes", womens got 20, guys got 17, but if you know them, like you do your own face, they beat lie detectors all to hell"

Vincenzo Coccotti,  True Romance

now I may not be Sicilian but I feel like I pick up some info from Coach, his body language when he talks about a player, when he's talking about a position, does he mention a player, and in what context, he has been the hardest coach for me to read since I have been doing this.

I hope everyone had a good 4th, the last pleasant distraction before the start of training camp, which is just under a month away, but is it just me, or does it just seem like TC has been about a month away.....for about a month already, lol, but there are no Sparano pressers to keep me occupied, because not only do I try to garner information from Coach, but I actually enjoy listening to him speak about football, he loves this sport, and he can't hide that.

I miss all the "well this deal here is", and the " it seems to be slowing down for him" stuff, his very colloquial way of communicating, you know, Sparano Speak, but now I won't hear him speak til TC most likely, so where that will seem like a long time, I will be very excited the next time I hear Sparano Speak.
