Report: Dolphins sign DE Charles Grant
Marques Douglas just got some competition. The Dolphins added the former Saint today, according to NFL.com's Sam Wyche.
Grant will be 32 in early September and had 5.5 sacks before missing the playoffs due to an injury he suffered in week 17. At 6'3, 285, Grant will convert to a 3-4 DE after playing his whole career as a 4-3 DE.
It's also important to note that Grant must serve a four game suspension to start the 2010 season stemming from a positive drug test in 2008.

Sky isn’t falling yet. If i were to guess, they are more worried about depth. When Merling went down the first thing I wondered, as I’m sure the FO wondered as well, was who would start opposite Odrick. When you can’t think of an out-and-out starter, it means we were lacking depth. Hopefully these pickups can fix that problem.

I thought a jude said the NFL can go ahead and suspend cus the players lost the appeal.
Its a very confusing topic
When one judge rules one thing the other rules the other. There was an article out this summer saying that the chances are good that all players play this season. If a suspension is handed down it may be toward the end of the season, but its not definite yet.

Im just spit balling ideas around trying to figure out were this guy fits. Langford is set at LDE and it looked like Dougles and Odrick were fighting for the RDE spot. Maybe it’s just for competition but this guy is too good to be competition for backups like McDaniels and Dotson(who has been getting plenty of love from the staff). Maybe just as nickle and dime pass rusher. Guess we’ll have to wait till the season starts to find out.

I don't think it is a definite suspension
This is the whole Star Caps thing, along with the Williams Brothers in Minnesota and Will Smith his fellow DE in New Orleans. This thing has been ongoing for some time and it doesn’t seem like it is going to be resolved any time soon. I don’t expect him to be suspended, but it could happen.
