There was a post the other day about S. Green (Jets RB) being overrated. While I agree that he is indeed overrated, it got me to thinking. Who doesn't get enough credit in the NFL? So I decided to come up with this post. I will try to be as impartial as possible in my selections. Keep in mind that these are guys that I feel don't get enough credit. Also this is just the first installment so just because a guy didn't make the list doesn't mean he won't be on the next one. And as always your input is encouraged.
Oh yeah, GO DOLPHINS!!!
2. Ray Rice (RB), Ravens - Everyone knows about his ability to run the ball, but IMO he doesn't get nearly enough credit for his ability to catch the ball. He had 78 receptions for 702 yards out of the backfield. That's a solid season for WR let alone a RB.
3. Davone Bess (WR), Dolphins - In a run heavy offense lacking explosiveness with a first year starter at QB. Bess still managed to snag 76 balls for 758 yards and was 2nd in the league catching the ball to move the chains on third down.
4. Jamaal Charles (RB), Chiefs- Charles went over the 1000 yard mark but that's not the impressive thing. The impressive thing is the fact that he did it behind a shabby O-line and averaged nearly 6 yards per carry with 9 TDs total.
5. Barrett Ruud (MLB), Bucs - Ruud was one of the lone bright spots on 2009 Tampa Bay roster. He was tied for 2nd in the league in tackles this past season with 142. What's amazing is that only 35 of those tackles were assists.
