According to Aaron Wilson of Scout.com, the Dolphins have signed rookie linebacker A.J. Edds. His deal is reportedly for 4 years and includes a $477,000 signing bonus. Edds is the second draft pick the Dolphins have come to terms with this offseason.
The fourth round pick out of Iowa is expected to have a larger role than mid-rounders typically have. The Dolphins have said that Edds could instantly see action as a nickel linebacker because of his outstanding coverage skills, at least for a linebacker. He's smart and athletic and it'll be interesting to see how he gets worked into the linebacker rotation once camp gets underway next month.
The Dolphins still have six draft picks left to sign, including each of their first three picks from April's draft.
