Latest Buzz: Sheets taking roster spot from Hilliard?

There are lots of good nuggets in Barry Jackson's latest article. Perhaps the most interesting is Jackson's claim that "players have raved about Kory Sheets."

As much as I like Lex Hilliard, Sheets offers a potentially dynamic element both out of the backfield and in the return game. This battle should be fun to watch.

I'd love to see sheets playing a big role on the offense.

He’ll provide speed and that home run threat which is what our offense really lacks, sure Brandon Marshall will make some big plays but he aint exactly a burner and won’t go the distance of the field when the ball is in his hands. Hope to see Sheets make the final roster.

This is going to be a though decision. Hillard is a monster blocker. But I have questions about his running style. I’m not hating on it because he’s a bruiser. I just don’t think he can be a starter. But here’s a video of why we should keep him

Sheets is a dynamic runner with break away speed and KR skills. But I’ve been told his weakness is blocking.

So its going to come down to which we need more, a blocker or runner.

What are the chances we keep 5 rb’s on the 53?

I think if Sheets surprises enough, Cobbs will go.

If Sheets can be a good pass catcher out of the back field, and also a better HB than Cobbs, I can see our FO letting Cobbs go. Lex is good insurance if Polite goes down. Also he seems to have the fire under his @$$ that will make him successful in the NFL. (Just look at the 3 & 13 run he converted, ran over two LBs to get it done.) I think that Sexy Lexy has the tools to be ou #1 back of the future. Especially if he is splitting carries with Sheets.
