I see a lot of posts that point out our aging backfield and Yes it's true that they are aging but i think people forget that we have a guy who did pretty well in his limited time. He looks like a R&R type runner and he catches just as well from the backfield. Yeah I'm talking about Lex Hilliard. Now before someone goes insane and says we need a good back from the draft or someone that will make huge plays... that's what our passing game will be for in the years to come. I think that we will see a somewhat seamless transfer from Ricky to Lex when Ricky chooses to retire(which still game play wise doesn't look soon). I think the only thing we would need to do to get Hilliard to play as well as Ronnie would be a relief back like Ricky.
No I'm not saying that he is the greatest back ever but i think that he would be able to carry the load if both Ricky and Ronnie were lost. I was really glad to see him get on the field because he seems to have fun when he does. Just like Ronnie has that grin when he knows he's about to score a touchdown out of the wildcat(you know the one). I just hope that he sticks around long enough to see his potential as a Dolphin.
Just look up his one rushing touchdown and you will see that he lowers his shoulder to make contact even though he already had the TD... remind you of anyone?
Well that's about it for tonight. I'm a wee bit tired. Just thought you should look at some of the things he did in his limited play time. Just look his couple O plays up when you get a chance.
