Take a look at our 2010 roster. Depth everywhere is what I see. How many players do you consider locks as starters? On offense I think we have Henne, Long, Cary, R&R express (splitting starts), Polite, and Marshall. Everyone else has to battle there way back, even Bess. That's saying a lot (in a good way) about this team. On defense Starks, Dansby, and Bell. Wow, I could only think of three. Everyone else is fighting for their spot. That includes Davis and Smith if W. Allen gets better. Special Teams, Denny, DC$, and Fields. So I count 13 lock starters as of today. Nevertheless, there are plenty more who could be considered locks for the 53. All this competition is great and will only make our team better. However, with all this competition and depth there are still some concerning questions.
Offense: The only position that concerns me is RB. Can Ronnie hold up? Will Ricky wear down? How's Cobbs knee? Lex has shown flashes but can he do it for a whole game? Sheets is turning heads but is there room for him on the 53?
*you can make a argument for TE also.
Defense: OLB's, can Misi and Wake figure it out?
FS, can Clemons QB the defense? *Did he impressive enough for Ireland not to go after OJ tonight?
NT, can Starks become a true NT?
I feel these three concerns will be our downfall if we learn we have the wrong answer during the season.
Special Teams: Who's our KR/PR? RGM and Sheets are probably our best answers here. Is there room for them on our 53? What about Clemons? I don't hear his name in this conversation much. He runs a 4.3.
[update low 40 times]
Sheets low 4.32
Clemons low 4.28
Pruitt low 4.36
RGM low 4.36
