A Must Sign FA

All I can say is that we need to sign this guy right now, 20 minutes ago, pronto....every second wasted counts.

We are talking about a player with all the "physical tools": rocket arm, great size........um, "rocket arm", and did I mention he's big?

Plus he's a mere 24 years old and as we all know, younger is always, always better. No need for any over 27 year old "progress stoppers" on our roster. No Ma'am indeed.

Add this kid to our roster and we'd then have 4 GREAT QB's all capable of STARTING (hooray). Best part, is Thigpen would be the old man at 26, so we might have to cut him once he gets "old" and turns, you know, 28. Oh yeah and he can be a "mentor" and "inspire" our talented Mr. Baseball  Pat White

All this guy needs is a little, wee bit of coaching to work out a few minor flaws in his game. They aren't even that big a deal and people probably haven't noticed. As I see it, these are almost trivial things this kid has to improve on. Mostly it is those darn experts at ESPN that keeping bashing him for no reason. Sure he's had problems keeping his weight under 295 lbs, a little trouble hitting a barn (from 15 yards away), plus I'll admit his lack of presence might mean he won't notice say, and a grizzly bear 20 yards from the pocket. And yeah, those sports writers make a big deal of the fact he might have seemed asleep at a meeting or two but really, he was deep in concentration and visualization. Something all the great QB's do as we all know...

Once those little things get sorted out....like I said, just a tiny bit of coaching is all he needs....then we can package him up next year to, um, the Jets for a 1st & 2nd round pick. Yeap, money :-)

So like I said, get this kid now!

we need to sign him right now

he would be a great addition at linebacker as long as we teach him how to stand up.

hahahahahaha

see right there is why Mr baseball is better, he stumbled twice like that last year and didn’t fall once, he did fumble, but who cares, theres no fumbling in baseball!

We could probably use another nose tackle... sign him up!

Bold prediction: Our defense will finish the season rated better than the Jets defense.

yeah

i take back saying linebacker he not smart enough to know where to go at nose all you have to do is shove the guy in front of you and if you see the ball tackle the person holding it

If we sign Jamarcus Russel . . .

Can he play NT? Seriously if we sign him he iwould instantly be our heaviest DL on the roster. He could command double teams and free up our LBs to make plays. Think about it, we could pay him to stand there and occupy space. I think Oakland just played him at the wrong position on the field.

Don't TEs have to...like, run?

That implies a certain amount of work…and the ability to stay upright…and remember things…not sure he’s demonstrated any of these on a consistant basis.

Yup get him now

then put him and white together and we might get a 6 rounder for them both!!!

He didn't sack himself..

He gave himself up Brett Farve-Michael Strahan style for the “What’s his face” DE of the 49ers so that he could get his first career NFL sack.
C’mon, it’s the new sportsmanship

Yes, it’s not whether you win or lose it’s how you played the game…..Wait a minute, bumbling fool just sacked himself! I’d say he played the game pretty damn shitty!

hahaha nice

you should see some of the nicknames people have been tryin to come up with over in the PFT comments section for this story. JaBustus, JaFatass, JaLazy, JaThargic, JaSuckAss, some real winners lol

And the occasional drunk Raider fan talking playoffs lol

I think the skittles story and Sanchez’s “Hot Dog-gate” last year were 2 of my favorite NFL stories. I used to give my peewee team skittles before their game on Saturday mornings because they needed the sugar rush to wake up…. didn’t think an NFL player would copy that strategy lol.

And since I lived in Oakland very recently and have been to Raider's games...

let me tell you, the nicknames that the Raiders fans had for Russell were….um…brutal! I mean he would so much as come out of the tunnel at the start, not the end mind you, but before the game for warmups and they would absolutely rip him to pieces.

I know it is a little bit of a stretch but in some ways I think there’s a parallel between Russell:Oakland and Ginn:Miami.

by Natalya on May 7, 2010 4:00 PM EDT up reply actions

I completely agree

it didn’t matter what they did, they were going to get booed because they didn’t live up to the lofty expectations. Both are busts, but I think Ginn has a better chance to redeem himself. Russell doesn’t seem to care, hasn’t shown any football intelligence, and probably won’t be in the league in a few years. Ginn at least has some potential as a WR, so long as he can catch the ball consistently (far from a sure thing), and he’s a good returner that can blow the game open with one play.. and those kinds of guys always have a job somewhere in the NFL.

And apparently a social one too...

namely on twitter ;-)

Russell – the FatMan? why he’s a meal ticket, a $39M meal ticket for all of 7 wins. Let’s see if my math is good….why fellow fin fans, that’s a mere $5.57M a win! And you thought you were underpaid…

Ginn can be a serviceable #4, maybe, if he works hard and occasionally lets himself take a hit….he can work himself into a #3 WR, and he’s a handy return man.

Russell, um, I’d love to see him in say arena league, too bad they folded. Otherwise, he’s likely going to a) end up in buffalo (ha ha!), b) the answer to a trivia question

by Natalya on May 7, 2010 4:59 PM EDT up reply actions

Ginn learn how to take a hit? Ted isn’t even man enough to take a hit from a bong

I was thinking the same thing Nat!

i say sign him quick! If nothing else, he can play guard.

Ok I have a plan

Sign Russel to the practice squad, let him eat all the big mac’s he wants, and he can just sit on the sled and let the linemen push him around. 3 weeks later, we have the strongest line ever!

imagine

Bulking him up muscle wise, and inserting him into the wildcat as a fullback option, idk,i know this was meant as sarcasm, but its intruiging to say the least
