Reading the forms this past week a lot of people think Pat White wont be a Phin before the season starts. I'm on the edge with this leaning to the goodbye side. On one hand he was last years second round pick 44th overall. He only had 5, count them FIVE attempts at passing with zero completions. He was brought in to be a change up QB with the ability to run. On the other had he doesn't look like he has "IT". I think (I'm most likely right) our season would be over if White has to start. Then there is the question is he better than the other backups? My answer is no. I think Thigpen is an awesome QB. I also think he's better than any of the QB's from this years draft. Note: i do like Tebow (HUGE HUGE project, but a winner) and FAU's Rusty Smith (that guy has "IT" and can make ALL the throws. Smith IS the best QB of the draft IMO. Keep your eyes on the Titans.) Anyways, back to the topic. Thigpen is a damm good backup. He can also play the role White was asked to do. But, he's only the second backup player. Our 1st backup spot automatically goes to CP10. A proven leader that knows how to win games. However, we know of the injury concerns so there has to be a good player behind him. Then there is Ronnie Brown???? LOL WHAT??? hey! he looks like he has a nice touch pass. I'm just saying its note worthy. Anyways, that leaves White as the 4th QB. With so much depth all over our roster I highly doubt we can keep 4 QB's. So how does White Jump Thipen? Well White will have to have a STRONG showing in camp/preseason. If this happens expect to see Thigpen on the trading block. Another way White can try to stay the team is to be converted to a wideout. But there a lot of competition there for the last spot with Turner/cfl guys leading the way. We also know White only wants to be a QB. But, for all the negatives. I must say White is a natural athlete that will eventually find his niche. The question is, do you think the phin train going to wait for him???
