Player to look out for next year in Colege Football... SS Edition

                 This is just a list of top prospects, at the positions I think we wil be in need of: 1) Recieving TE (obvious)  2) HB (Aging backfield, with no clear answer) 3)SS replacement (Bellis 33 yo, aging) 4) replacement RT (pass protection, or lack there of)

DISCLAIMER:  These choices assume that newcomers at FS, NT, OLB, ILB, etc. stick around. So don't blame me for not predicting that some don't pan out.

DeAndre McDaniel, S, Clemson
Height: 6-1. Weight: 210.
Projected 40 Time: 4.43.
Projected Round (2010): Top 20 Pick.
5/14/10: DeAndre McDaniel is an impressive athlete and can play either safety position. He collected a whopping eight interceptions in 2009 to go along with his 98 tackles, 6.5 TFL and two sacks.

 Like this prospect, good production, faster, and bigger than Bell. Sounds like a good combo to me :-)

 

 

 

Mark Barron*, SS, Alabama
Height: 6-2. Weight: 215.
Projected 40 Time: 4.61.
Projected Round (2010): 1-2.
5/14/10: A pure strong safety, Mark Barron broke up 11 passes as a junior. He also had 74 tackles and seven interceptions.

 Not many vids to choose from, not a good sign. The INt looked like he got luck with that bad of a pass.

Tyler Sash*, SS, Iowa
Height: 6-1. Weight: 210.
Projected 40 Time: 4.64.
Projected Round (2010): 2-3.
5/14/10: Tyler Sash had six interceptions and broke up six passes as a sophomore. He finished the year with 85 tackles and 5.5 TFL.

The only one I'd be suspicious about is the last because of how many good prospects came out this year. Either they made him look better than he is, or with all that talent leaving, he will have a worse season than he would otherwise. The we can get him with a lower pick and get a steal. But by looking at the Highlights it looks like he can make play by himself and can take advantage of other good players around him make good plays and making them better. (like the tipped ball he caught for a INT.
