Dolphins gamble on center Cory Procter Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on May 24, 2010 4:41 PM ET After visiting three teams last week, former Cowboys center Cory Procter has chosen to sign with the Miami Dolphins.
Procter was picked up off the Lions practice squad by Bill Parcells in Dallas, and joins him again. Procter can play center and guard. He will help replace Justin Smiley on the roster; Smiley was traded for a conditional late-round pick on Monday.
We mentioned over the weekend that Jake Grove and Joe Berger were competing for the starting center job in Miami. Procter's acquisition makes you wonder if Grove's roster spot is guaranteed.
