SOLB Player X

I decided to create a player (player X). He’s given a lower but still good size requirements for his position. Then he’s given a well rounded combine. I then compared player X to the draft prospects to see who came close. Player’s X Combine numbers are just my opinion of a well rounded SOLB.

Constraints: Must bench 225 lbs 30 times to make the list. If a player had both outstanding cone/shuttle they were bumped on to the list with a 25 bench minimum

Scores are in Bold, Normal Font, and Strikethrough.
-Bold: they were better than Player X.
-Normal font: within a .10 in time trials, Vertical/Broad jump within 3 inches, height within 2 inches, and weight within 10 pounds.  Close enough to players X combine and passes.
-Strikethrough: falls outside of the constraints and fails

Combine numbers are in this order:
10 Yard; Bench; Vertical; Broad; 20 Yard Shuttle; 3 cone; Height/Weight

Players X combine:
10 Yard-1.65, Bench-30, Vertical-32, Broad-9’05”, 20 Yard Shuttle- 4.40, 3 cone-7.15,  Height/Weight 6’2” 260
. Note: only the 10 Yards was judged because OLB’s don’t run 40 yards and burst speed is more important.

Round 1:
Brandon Graham:            1.61, 31, -------------------------  6’1”  268  inconclusive
Everson Griffen:                1.63, 32, 34, 9’07” 4.36,7.25,6’4” 273 passed
Sean Weartherspoon      1.60, 34, 40, 10'03" 4.38 6.99 6'1" 239 Fail
Round 2:
Jerry Hughes :                  1.63,26,34½,9’10”4.15,6.99 6’2” 255 passed

Round 3:
Jason Worlids:                 1.56,24,38, 9’06” 4.29, 6.95,6’1” 254  A much talked about player so I put him on. Fails by one bench.

Round 4:
Daniel Te’o-Nesheim:    1.61, 29, 37, 10’01” 4.18, 6.91, 6’4” 263 Passed
CJ Wilson:                         1.67, 32, 33, 9’08”, 4.50, 7.65, 6’3” 290 Fail
George Johnson:             1.65, 29,31, 9’05” 4.57,6.95, 6’5” 268 Fail

10 Yard;Bench;Vertical;Broad;20 Yard Shuttle;3 cone;Height/Weight

Round 5:
Keenan Clayton:               1.56, 27, 41 ½, 10’07”, 4.20, 6.85, 6’1” 229 Fail
Round 6:
Dexter Davis:                     1.55, 25, 35, 9'01" 4.30, 7.08 6'2" 244 Fail

Round 7 – FA

Kyle Bosworth:                  1.65, 25, 32 1/2, 9'09" 4.11, 6.67, 6'1" 236

Junior Galette:                   1.65 ,25, 33 1/2 9'05" 4.16 7.05 6'2" 257 pass

Alex Daniels :                    1.59, 31, 36 ½, 10’09” 4.51, 7.08, 6’2” 265 Fail
John Russell :                  1.70, 30, 26, 8’09” 4.53, 7.15, 6’3” 278 Fail
Danny Batten:                   1.66,30, 32 ½, 10’02” 4.05,7.32,6’3”246 Fail
Jan Jorgenson:                1.71, 29, 34, 8’03” 4.34, 7.35, 6’-2” 256 Fail
Austin Spitler:                    1.63, 32, 32, 9’04” 4.23, 6.70, 6’-2”243 Fail size, but close.

Does it mean if players fail they wont have a successful career? And the guys that pass do? No and No.  This is just to show who the most well rounded, athletically gifted players are. It also shows potential steals/good projects.
Everson round 1, Jerry Hughes round 2,  Daniel Te’o-Nesheim round 4, and Junior Galette round 7, are the only players who passed the test. In round 7 Alex Daniels came close with .01 off his 20 yard shuffle.

I liked Daniel Te’o-Nesheim before doing this.  After doing this I like him even more. I hope we pick this guy up If we don't get a SOLB in the first.
