What would you say if I told you that we might have a number one receiver on our roster already. No im NOT talking about those 0 catch guys like Turner, Pruitt, or Johnson.
So the "prototypical" #1 has to be around 6'2'' 195, right? hands about 10 inches (bigger than crabtree, britt, pat turner)? speed between 4.4 and 4.6 is ideal, right? he needs to be a big play threat, right? hows about 23 ypc in his senior season???
now who am i talking about? the one and only Brian Hartline.
i know i know. he's a supposed to be a slot receiver, a wes welker type. but i think this is just stereotyping him into a role that doesnt use his talent to the fullest.
Just a thought as we head closer to the draft...
heres a quote from Hartline about this offseason:
"My focus in the offseason is bigger and stronger," said Hartline, who was selected in the fourth round. "I want to add that dynamic to my game. Being able to push guys around and not always having to run around guys all the time."
Welcome your thoughts/criticism. Im not the best (or even an average) blogger. I would appreciate it if some of you could pull some stats out of your collective ass's to prove/disprove my point.
