Notes from day one of rookie camp

Stay connected for news and updates

While it may only be a three day rookie mini-camp, it's hard not to get excited. It's the first time we've seen any Dolphin player in their jersey and helmet since early January. It's also a glimpse into the future as Miami's most recent draft picks sport their new uniforms for the first time.

Below are some notes from Friday's rather uneventful practice:

-Rookie A.J. Edds is not wearing #54 any more. He has been given #49 for now. But rookie OLB Koa Misi is donning Joey Porter's old #55.

-Tony Sparano confirmed that rookie safety Reshad Jones will compete to start at free safety.

-Rookie guard John Jerry is working at left guard despite playing his entire collegiate career on the right side of the line.

-Clearly Jared Odrick is a perfectionist, pointing out that he wasn't happy with his first play on Friday.

-All four rookie linebackers were at the team's facility at 6:30 am watching film on Friday.
