Calling all Dez Bryant fans on this blog site to join!!! The Bryant Express will join us with the 12th pick in this year's draft and here's why
We all know Parcells' penchant for drafting "Prototypical" Players. Now you have to ask your self, what exactly does the mean in terms of WR? Well, for one thing, it's someone that we curently DO NOT have on this roster. Well all know the Bryant ran between a 4.5-4.6 in the 40 time. He attacks the ball in the air, gets downfield pretty quickly, and fights for the ball-Something our current WR corps doesn't do.
He measures, 6'2", and weighs 225 lbs. He c an definitely get down to 218-200 in the South Florida heat, and all i keep having visions of is Randy Moss getting passed over by us, and then having a Hall Of Fame type career. Well my friends, not again. This is our chance to right the ship, and get some God Damn playmakers to inject some youth and life into this perennial anemic offense. Here are some other "prototypical WR's", and their measurables, and see how Bryant may stack up:
Brandon Marshall-6-4 229 lbs. 4.50 40 time
Vincent Jackson- 6-5 230 lbs, 4.5 40 time
Syndey Rice- 6-4 200 lbs. 4.51 40 time
Braylon Edwards- 6-3 211 lbs. 4.5 40 time
Anquan Boldin-6-1 217 lbs. 4.71 40 time
Marques Colston- 6-4 224 lbs. 4.55 40 time
DEZ BRYANT- 6-2 225 lbs. 4.5-4.6
The point i'm trying to make, is that if you take the average of all these WR's that are considered tough, prototype players, then you will have Dez Bryant. We all know, or think we know what type of person, character wise he is, but we don't know anything more than what the media is telling us. I really believe that he will be the pick, and i really beieive that he can be special. We all can agree on one thing here, something that will never be debated and that's the fact the we need to surround Henne with as much talent as possible. Why not start with the best WR in this draft? Be bold, make a statement, and give this kid a target that he can grow with. I guarantee that Henne would love to throw to this kid, and that they will establish a rapport that will last for the next 5-10 years. I am not concerned about his "character", or desire to play. If the trifecta brought him in, and spent some time with him, then they must feel good about where he is mentally, and about his passion for the game.
The Bangwagon is chuggin along, next stop, South Florida!!!! Who's coming with me?
