PrintAccording to Fox's Jay Glazer the Dolphin's have traded Ted Ginn Jr. to the 49ers for a Late-Round Pick.

In all honesty I hope its a decent round pick. While I don't think Ted Ginn Jr is anything special his athleticism, and return skills alone will be missed. Marshall is a beast but NONE of our other receivers are really fast enough to stretch the field. We will also need to spend a late round draft pick on a returner now so what was the point?
UPDATE
Mort is reporting the trade was for a 5th round pick. I feel much better now that I know it's a fifth. Hopefully we draft another receiver or db with speed and return skills at some point.

… Look being in the military, I see a lot of good soldiers get in trouble for things like domestics… One thing I know for sure all it takes is on complaint or argument. Domestic dispute is just that. They never confirmed him beating anyone have they? Have they shown pictures? Soldiers get in trouble a lot due to this, All it takes is a call, and due to past accounts, the police have a SOP standard operating procedure, where they a forced to have to either separated the 2 for a cool down period. In the past police would try to let them talk it out, as soon as the police would leave something bad would happen. Not saying I know exactly what happened, but I’m really getting tired of people who act like they know it all, did you live next to him at the time??? We all know why he acted the way he did in Denver…. He wanted to get paid. Let it go already.

He needs a fresh start and he will probably do well, just not a fit for us…
This is a good move for both teams. Ginn was never going to blossom here after all the
expectations put on him as a first. Now he can go somewhere, have a new start and not be straddled with the expectations that go with a first round draft pick.

Personally i think teddy next season
would have benefited the club. getting him out of the No. 1 slot and relieving coverage from him, when people dont respect him the home Bills game in 08 happens as does the road Jets game last year, but the truth is hes been a problem for awile we all know that. i mean he earned his “Stone hands” reputaion to say the least. i think both Miami and San fran are getting what they want here
this isnt some ridiculous trade by them. Im happy with the 5th, there getting a young guy with blazing speed and potential for a late round pck. In there case if they find a use for great, if not thats ok too, because they didnt give too much up.

accountability
Its nice to see this FO making players accountable for this past season. In my humble opinion the Fins record should have much better than 7-9. Defensive Coordinator gone, Ginn gone, Joey Porter gone, Akin Ayodele gone. In addition, we made 2 monster moves with BM, and Dansby. I’m very excited for the upcoming draft and next season!!! I also really hope the FO resigns JT to have him jump ship to the Jets the thought makes me want to throw up.
If Turner was so good
Why would we not activate him the entire year? Because we needed the extra roster spot due to Hartline surprising? Maybe they have seen enough in the off season to have faith in Turner. Or they figure they can draft a speedster rookie to return KOs and play WR. When you think about it Ginn is not that hard to replace. Marshall replaces him as the #1. Just get a good KO returner in the draft and he is forgotten right?
Or maybe its for all the reasons that have been posted on here numerous times.
