So I am writing this in hopes that we will address the problems we have in the way that I believe we could. It would be the only way to justify the front office treating JT the way that we have to this point. This is just a fun post, and I do not think for a moment that we are planning something like this, but if it makes you feel better to insert a different player then go ahead because this is all pure fantasy anyway. But it would explain some things.
1.) First start off by moving Will Allen to FS. He is a vet and has both the NFL experience and ball instincts that we are wanting, and the fact that he has lost a step, while it is a detriment to him at CB, will be completely unnoticeable at FS where his experience will translate directly into playing speed. Eric Berry will still have to adjust to the speed and the complexity of the NFL game and he will play like a rookie, no matter how well he played in college. Will Allen will be able to mentor the rookies for another couple of years and get them in the right position to be productive until they fully grasp playing at the NFL level.
2.) We draft either a NT or WR with our first pick and the other with our second pick. Hopefully we can land both Terrence Cody and the #1 WR we have been needing. Finish off the draft by picking up Jimmy Graham and Myron Rolle or someone that we can develop to take over for Will Allen in a couple of years. We also draft a late round OLB to develop behind....
3.) JT. We resign him. What is better than that is it was all part of the plan from the beginning. We as fans should have known that him going to the Jets was never ever going to happen given his hatred for them. He is still a playmaker and keeping him off our roster made everyone think that we were going OLB with the first pick. When we then go for no OLB, it causes other teams to stay away from OLB as well allowing a talented yet still raw OLB to drop to us in the later rounds(who knows... maybe JPP.. he is still raw ... but I would take him in the 4th round to develop behind JT).
