The Greatest 4 round Mock Draft Ever
Ladies and Gentleman of The Phinsider, you are about to read the greatest Miami Dolphins mock draft ever, because it is written by the greatest writer ever, ME!
1st pick: The Miami Dolphins selcect (drumroll) Earl Thomas, safety out of Texas.
Now that we have a linebacker in Dansby, Free Safety is our biggest need. Thomas has good size (5'10, 195), speed (4.45 40) and he's young (20). He's the best FS in the draft.
2nd Pick: Jerry Hughes, OLB/DE out of TCU
Jason Taylor's aging, and Jerry Hughes would be a nice future replacement for him. He's 6'2, 255 and ran a 4.69 40.
3rd Pick: Terrence Cody or DT from 'Bama, or Jeff Owens, DT Georgia, or Linval Joseph DT East Carolina
The kid is freaking huge (365 pounds) and somehow finished his 40 in 5.20. I would expect a 10.20. He's a great run stopper, and he would fill our DT void. He'd be a nice pick for the 3rd round. Owens (304 lbs) ran a 4.97 40 and benched 44 times. Dudes pretty athletic. Joseph is 6'5 300 lbs. He benched 39 times.
4th Pick: WRs Riley Cooper of Florida, Jeremy Williams of Tulane, or Taylor Price of Ohio.
I don;t wanna take a WR early but these would be good picks a little bit later.

Thomas isnt a reach
we would be lucky to get Hughes at 43 and samething for Cody at 75(I too am not a fan of fata$$ but there?!?!?! he is a solid solid pick)

But Riley Cooper?
Come On Man! He sucks. If your going to take a WR at that point I’d rather go after Mike Williams. He’s a much better prospect.
how bout we trade down a couple spots to pick up either earl thomas or dan williams
And get jimmy graham !

NT is or is becoming our biggest need.
we at least have Chris Clemons at FS.
We have nobody at NT.
That being said, if Dan Williams is taken earlier (and he might be, say by Buffalo or Denver), there is no other NT that is worth the 12. I think Earl Thomas is worth 12.
I have a feeling that Buffalo or Kansas City or Denver will take Hughes/B. Graham before he gets to 43.
I wouldn’t go for Cody (Rich Eisen was just a little behind Cody).
I like Linval Joseph, maybe not at 3rd round
1st: Earl Thomas S; 2nd: Lamarr Houston NT; 3rd: Jimmy Graham TE; 4: Emmanuel Sanders WR; 6A: Arthur Jones NT; 6B: Adrian Tracy OLB; 6C: Dexter Davis OLB; 7A: Thomas Austin G/C; 7B: Scott Long WR;
buffalo needs a qb

if we re-sign ronnie, we don't need Spiller
Thomas would be a much more useful pick

We'll need Spiller when Ronnie twists his pinky toe and is out for the season again.

We did ok last year when we lost Ronnie Brown....
Not once last season did I hear anyone complaining that we just couldn’t seem to run the ball. I like CJ Spiller. I think if someone bites on Ronnie for their 1st pick we draft Spiller with our #12 pick and go after the best NT we can get with the pick we wind up with for Brown. But other than that I really don’t think we need to draft a 5th RB. We had 4 guys last year that were too good to cut one … Not one of them had trouble gaining yards last year except that they didn’t get enough touches.

terrance cody
i wouldnt waste a draft pick on him, let alone a 3rd
guy plays about 1 play a drive. lazy/out of shape. not worth it when we need a starter/1st year rotational player.

The first three picks would be a gift from God. The fourth is a joke.
But, Hughes is 99% going in the 1st, and Cody is 95% going in the 2nd.
We wake & blunder on, / wiser, on the whole, / but not more accurate.

I've seen quite a few mocks that have Hughes dropping into round 2

I personally don't see Cody dropping that far ....
Like Ireland said … "There are only so many big guys walking on this earth. It’s a big priority in any defense. When you find them, you’ve got to keep them." We lost Ferguson for the first 8 games, at the very least. Everything else we do on defense hinges on the big man up front in a 3-4. We absolutely have to get someone that can start at NT on opening day.
Mock drafts always discount the big guys because they don’t realize how much they mean to all the other skill positions. That is why they are draft analysts.
They sit on the outside of the draft and try to figure out what the draft experts are going to do(barring teams like the Raiders of course).
We are not reaching to draft the most important and toughest position to fill. The more tape I watch on Cody the more I think he might be a steal in the draft because he looks so sloppy. Think what you want about him, he is probably currently the same size as Vince Wilfork. I think he can fill the role. No matter who we bring in at NT they are going to instantly lose 10-15 lbs as soon as they get into the 2-a-days in South Florida.
Watch this guy …. seriously… there is no one at the college level that knocks people off the ball than he does. The only one that is close is Dan WIlliams. Everyone else looks great when the offensive line is dropping back into pass protection, but they are getting pushed back by single blockers on the college level. What makes anyone think that these guys can come to the pros and eat up 2 blockers??
