Shaun Rogers?
I just saw a column on Yahoo Sports saying that the Browns are shopping NT Shaun Rogers. The report says they would want a QB in return or some combination of players to seal the deal. I don't know about you guys but IMO this is big news. With Ferg more than likely not returnig. Rogers would be more than a stopgap, he'd be around for at least 4 seasons, and is among the top nose takles in the league. Not to mention, we have more QB's then we need on the roster. I'm sure it won't hurt to loose one. With the draft only yeilding so many big men, not only are we getting a proven guy but we would have more flexablity in the upcoming draft. So to say the least, I hope the trifecta looks into this possibility soon.

trade.....
thigpen, solia, camarillo, and a 6th for Rogers. That gives them a nose tackle in return, a quarterback that is more than capable of starting in this league, camarillo, who is one of the most reliable receivers in the game, and a 6th, for Rogers, and maybe a 7th.

prolly not, and i doubt there will be.
remember the report that said that Parcells does not want any leaks on his plans for the offseason? The Fins FO will be airtight this year when it comes to moves like this.

Thigpen for the fat man should be more than enough
In fact at this point in his career after the rep he’s developed I think the should send us a late round pick along with the fat man for Thigpen.
Go get Suh if at all possible.

I’d tae Shaun Rogers in a minute to be our nose tackle…..but I don’t think he likes playing that position which I why I think he wants out of Cleveland.

shaun rogers
um… some of you are really undervaluing the most important position in a 3-4 defense.
id be willing to offer thiggy/white along with a 4th maybe even a 3rd round pick.

Because you're giving up youth for a guy who "has 4 years left"?
We will probably draft a NT at #12 anyways, not to mention I’d rather have “Thiggy” backing up Henne because if we have to rely on Pat White for the rest of the year we are screwed. Not to mention, if Chad P takes over his salary goes from 2.5 million to 5 million. Plus Chad P still has rehab going on and having him take over the reigns would be detrimental to the team if he isn’t 100%.
Thiggy showed he could be incredibly valuable if Henne makes a habit of getting dirt in his eye.

i still think 4 good years from a top NT is well worth giving up a backup qb
and a draft pick which is much more of a gamble.
acquiring rogers instantly makes our defense better than last year. if we dont get him then the stats show we struggled without fergie. noone in our roster is starter material at NT. if we draft a guy he probably wont be able to produce better than fergie did for at least a year.

How pissed would you be...

Looks like they don't need any D-Linemen or Receivers according to the original story (see link)
Tyler Thigpen for Shaun Rogers…I’d do that trade. I think Mangini would lobby for it.
Thigpen lit up Mangini’s Jets for 25-36-0 280 and 2 TDs in 2008 with the Chiefs.
DLine coach Casey Rogers (no relation) also went to UT and may have been Shaun’s teammate.
Perhaps he could get the most out of him.
1st: Earl Thomas S; 2nd: Lamarr Houston NT; 3rd: Jimmy Graham TE; 4: Emmanuel Sanders WR; 6A: James Starks RB; 6B: Colin Peek TE; 6C: Thomas Austin G/C; 7A: Arthur Jones NT; 7B: Scott Long WR;
Trade 1 for 1 or not at all
The Browns need QB help (More than any team in the league not playing in Arizona) and are willing to trade for it? Make the trade. They will want Thigpen since he is the youngest of our tradable QBs (Henne not being an option and White not being worth a 7th round pick by this point) and Thiggy isn’t going to be helping us a whole lot unless we lose two Chads this season. We need that NT so much more than we need an effective 3rd string QB.
Also, draft Geno Atkins (Georgia) in the fifth or sixth round.
