If McClain is available at 12,
I would entertain offers, especially from the Giants at 15 because, while I know mock drafts are just guess-work for inexperienced individuals, I read a lot of stories that the Giants need LB. If this is so, trade down and pick up an extra pick. Going from 12 to 15 probably won't warrant a 2nd rounder but maybe a 3rd. I would definitely trade down (if we can get a partner). What do you think?

Of course
if there is a good offer, sure you trade down pick and up those draft picks. But I wouldn’t want the Fins to draft him.

No on McClain in the 1st Round. He is 2nd round talent.
YES ON CJ OR DEZ!
I agree with you on this Neo. Give me some fire power on offense.

I'd say if Dez Bryant or CJ Spiller isn't available......
Trade down with the Giants for an extra pick and pick up our NT before any of the other 3-4 teams get a chance…I feel like the Phins might trade down regardless because Dez Bryant won’t be available and Eric Berry / Earl Thomas might be out of the picture.

2nd round talent?
By all accounts, McClain is the clearly the best LB prospect in this draft. The so-called experts don’t throw comparisons to Ray Lewis around easily. He might not go in the 10-15 range anymore due to some free agent signings, but dropping to the 2d round?!?!?!?!
Dan Williams was considered a lost cause after his junior season – wasn’t even considered a late round pick. Then the light went on in his senior year and and now he’s a top 15 pick? Sometimes I wish the draft was held a week after the Super Bowl so we wouldn’t get caught in all this crazy hype.
Dez Bryant for President…….

McClain is nowhere near Ray Lewis
whoever made that comparison is a joke. He might be the best ILB in this class, but he isn’t an elite talent IMO.

You're probably right
but Ray Lewis went in the mid-twenties to Baltimore so he wasn’t exactly considered an elite talent either. I think it has more to do with the position played. When paying that much money in the first half of round one, making tacles and stuffing the run aren’t as valuable as sacking the QB and creating turnovers in the secondary/

I agree
I think Ray went in the middle of the round because of character concerns though… could be wrong, that was 15 years ago, I think I was 8 lol.

At this time last year they were saying the same thing about Rey Maualuga
and he went in the 2nd round. Let’s see what he runs. The experts think he will be in the 4.7 or 4.8 range. If that is the case, he is a 2nd rounder.

I am not sure there will not be a run on DTs early on....
The draft “experts” always undervalue those big guys… They want to give QBs, WRs, and RBs all a first round grade, but they never see a Mario WIlliams for instance going #1. I personally think we stay where we are and make sure we get the best NT we can draft.
I agree
and at #12, the Miami Dolphins select Dan Williams!!
I for one would be happy. This would enable us in the second to think of 2 possible positions, LB or WR. We could go a Hughes/Washington pick there, or a Benn/Tate pick there. If you go Dez Bryant at 12, in my opinion, you almost certainly have to go Cam Thomas at 43.

Cam Thomas is a wonderful choice
I would love to have him as our 2nd pick after Bryant, if he lasts that long.
If he goes before mid-late second round

I'd be happy if they gave us a 4th rounder.
I think we should just stockpile picks, getting talent at the LB and OL positions. There’s some real nice depth at all the LB positions, look for J.Worilds, P.Angerer, J.Chaney, G.Selvie, G.Hardy, L.Witten, J.Fitzgerald to be nice pickups in the 4th and 5th rounds.
