PrintThe Denver Broncos hold the key to our draft. If they trade Brandon Marshall to seattle then the Broncos would hold Two picks in the top 11. Most of all those are two picks before we pick, and the Broncos have similar needs to us so you can kiss Dez Bryant and Rolando Mcclain goodbye. With that said no other player is worth this pick other than CJ Spiller but with Ferguson being suspended we have no nose tackle i proposed a trade down. In this mock i did it with the 49ers who have two first round picks.
17th: Dan Williams
There is no way in HELL we go into the season without a starting caliber nose tackle. Ferguson will be suspended first 8 games for PEDs and our investment in Karlos Dansby will go to waste without one. With teams like the Redskins and Bills converting to the 3-4 the demand for nose tackles will be at an all-time high, so we have to get first dibs.
43rd: Brandon Spikes
I believe after we draft him the next linebacker on his way out is Channing Crowder. Channing has shown that he can stop the run but he cant stay healthy, Spikes will bring that same run stopping presence with some durability.
49th: Brandon LaFell
Big, Physical, YAC Reciever is what we need and his 40 time should knock him out of round 1
73rd: Jimmy Graham
Jimmy Graham.....Need i say more
107th: Major Wright
Patrolled the Gator secondary since he was a Freshman...Big-time hitter, good in coverage

Don’t think we would have to worry to much Seahawks said they don’t want to give up the 6th pick but that still don’t mean that Denver won’t take Dez but I have a feeling they wont

Hell No!!! and it isn't the picks it's the trade down
why would they give up a second for moving 2-3 spots besides why would they do that. picks are fine besides Spikes, why not get a beast OLB like Jerry Hughes there.

My idea of a trade down.....
We trade with Pittsburgh cause they want to trade up and get Haden at 12. We get there number 18. In return, we also get there 2nd and its number 52.
Our draft would look like this…
18. Dan Williams, NT Tennessee
43. Arrelious Benn, WR Illinois
52. Jerry Hughes, OLB TCU

spikes looked absolutely terrible in the linebacker drills at the combine..
there is no way we take him. But it is clear that we will need a starting caliber nose tackle now, and I think Dan Williams will probably be that guy now that we have our starting inside lienbackers set. We need to fit a free safety, nose tackle, outside linebacker, cornerback depth, and a potential gamebreaking running back, tight end, and receiver all into the 7 rounds.
I agree with you that we will be looking to trade down in the first round, and I can picture us doing this especially if Dez Bryant is gone.

Here's something nobody is considering..
Dan Williams might not make it to 12. Buffalo has switched to a 3-4, and they have no NT. Cleveland would also be an option (probably too high, but this is Mangini..) if they deal Rogers, and Denver could use a NT as well, depending on what D they run next year (not sure at this point). That’s 3 teams ahead of us, and only 1 NT that would be considered. We may not have a chance to consider Williams.

Thing is Clevland has Shaun Rodgers and with as many needs as they have the 7th pick is
a little high for Dan… the denver broncos signed justin Bannan so i dont think they will go there either and last but not least Buffalo can really go in any direction

I said Cleveland would have to deal Rogers to consider Williams
and Justin Bannan isn’t an elite NT like DW is projected to be… but McDaniels doesn’t seem to like Elite players, so there’s that. I agree with you on Buffalo, they can do anything at that pick, and they may go in the trenches and get a NT.
And, if we trade back, that presents a whole new list of teams ahead of us that could steal him away.

to create another hole for themselves especially when they already have a pro bowl caliber player at the position

LaFell at 49 would be a steal, as would Graham in the 3rd and Wright in the 4th. All of those guys are projected 20-30 picks ahead of where we are getting them in this scenario.
