Were the Dolphins shut out of the Anquan Boldin trade?

I have no sources, this is just speculation.

My thinking is Arizona couldn't have been big fans of ours yesterday. We took one of their best players without sending them any compensation.

My guess here is Arizona either wanted more from us or wouldn't deal with us. Would you?

If a team was in the middle of taking one of your best players would you send them another one for a reasonable price? Their fan base would have killed them if they sent us a player after we were in heavy negotiations with one of their studs.

Maybe Arizona was afraid that sending Boldin to us would have helped attract Dansby even more?

Either way there are lots of different scenarios here that show that the Dolphins might not have ever had a chance to land Boldin.

The price of a 3rd and a swap of 4th for 5th suggests they should have had interest so the fact that they weren't involved tells me there's more to the story.

What if they traded us Boldin and then we signed Dansby followed by Rolle. The Cardinals fan base would have tormented their front office for sending the player the attracted the other two or even just Dansby. Sending us Boldin would have given the Cards fan base the fuel needed to start problems in the dessert especially since the Danby signing was obviously inevitable.

My guess is the Cardinals never gave the Dolphins a chance to even submit an offer.
