Ok, I'm not wanting to create yet another ridiculous offseason trade idea to throw around, but I happened to see this while perusing other blogs. Apparently Bears TE Greg Olsen is unhappy with Chicago's decision to bring in Mike Martz as their OC, and is going to ask to be traded. Here is the article about it on Windy City Gridiron.
Is Olsen someone we should consider trading for? I know we have discussed upgrading the TE position on here before, which is why this caught my eye. Now, I don't watch many of the Bears games so I don't really know too much about Olsen, so I thought I would ask you guys to see what you thought. Here are some of the stats I found on NFL.com for him:
Greg Olsen
Age: 24
Height: 6'5" Weight: 255
2007(rookie year)
Catches: 39 Yards: 391 Avg: 10.3 TDs: 2
2008
Catches: 54 Yards: 574 Avg: 10.6 TDs: 5
2009
Catches: 60 Yards: 612 Avg: 10.2 TDs: 8
Just to compare, here are the stats for Owen Daniels in his first 3 years (not counting last year since he was injured for half of the season):
2006(rookie year)
Catches: 34 Yards: 352 Avg: 10.4 TDs: 5
2007
Catches: 63 Yards: 768 Avg: 12.2 TDs: 3
2008
Catches: 70 Yards: 862 Avg: 12.3 TDs: 2
Anyways, I wanted to get the opinions from you guys who know a little more about Olsen and have seen him play, as stats can only tell you so much. So what do you guys think, is Olsen worth looking into for a trade? Nothing is official yet, and I didn't see in the article what the Bears might be asking for him if this ends up happening.
