By now, we all have heard about the rumors of Miles Austin potentially landing here in Miami. Now, whether this is true or not, a lot of people are not so sure on him. So, I did some research.
Make the jump.
Miles Austin is 6'3, 214, pretty tall and a nice deep threat. He has good speed, can make the tackler miss.
In 2007, he averaged 15.2 yards per reception, on 5 receptions. Not to many receptions t make an average out of, but it shows his consistency.
In '08, he averaged 21.4 yards per reception on 13 receptions. Again, not that many receptions, but thats not the point.
Now, last season, he averaged, on 81 receptions, 16.3 yards per reception. Thats awesome, and makes for a career 16.9 yds per reception.
Last year, his yds/reception numbers were among or even better than players like Andre Johnson (15.5), Randy Moss (15.2), Anquan Boldin (12.2), Larry Fitz (11.3), Reggie Wayne (12.6), Brandon Marshall (11.1), and the list goes on.
After I saw these stats, I was still on-edge about his abilities, so I looked at his TD stats:
In '08, with only 13 receptions, he had 3 end-zone visits.
Now, thats pretty dam good, and considering he only started 9 games, thats incredible.
If you still aren't convinced, and ou want to see what he can do on the field, you have come to the right place:
THIS^ is what change MY mind, Miles Austin would definitely solve our WR problem, and for a long time, he is only 25.
