Dolphins Attend a Certain WR Pro Day

The Dolphins were in attendace at Arrelious Benns Pro Day though you shouldnt make much of it considering they sent no reps to Jake Longs Pro Day but still selected him #1 overall. Interesting here is Benn had an impressive workout,  and if we happen to trade down or if hes there in the second round it  almost automatic that we take him. Because we need that yards after catch guy and thats what he accels at.

I agree with the fact that you can not read anything it to this. We seem to pick guys

that we showed no interest in and pass on others that we have in for visits and show all kinds of interest in. I think this FO spends plenty of time throwing up smokescreens in the off-season.

I'm all for that kind of a move if you know there is a player there that a team behind you

will do anything to get. Thats how you can cash in if you can truly pull it off.

I agree about the smokescreens

I think our FO does indeed send a massive amount of smokescreens out and about. I think we did this with Jake Long because we wanted to give the idea that we were going Matt Ryan. He was the one guy that year that teams might have traded up to get. We could have then dropped back a few spots and still got our massive LT.

we did miss that one with atlanta, i just felt so dam bad for them. I knew, you knew, the country knew, atlanta needed matt Ryan. But damnit we wernt ruthless enuff to grab the owner by the neck & squize back then.

I have no problem doing sumthing to say minnisota say we draft a guy like tebow then turn trade him & one of our 6th’s. take there first, second, & 5th, next years 1st we pick our defense & call it a day!

I just want Benn.

Any signs showing the Dolphins are somewhat interested in acquiring Benn is a win in my book.

If they are they will probably try and stay under the radar about it.

I still doubt he gets to the second, at least all the way to our second if he does

Yeah, he's draft stock is rising really fast with Dez' falling.

Maybe the Dolphins are showing interest in Benn so Dez’ stock drops enough that we can select him with our 12th pick.

But I’m still with picking Benn over Dez. But I’m coming around the realization that we won’t be picking a WR with our first two picks due to we’re not in a position on the board to pick up any of the hot WR’s with our first or second picks.

Dez will be there with our 12, but I don't think he's worth it either

Ehh

We didn’t attend Jake’s because we didn’t need to. We knew the player he was and what we were getting. I think they attended other Pro Days and showed interest in other prospects solely to see if anybody else jumped out at them. Perhaps a networking exercise.

kinda but not really you still attend a pro day to talk to the player and what not and see

if hes keeping his weight in check i mean c’mon he was going to be the #1 overall pick you better have a thorough evaluation

Dez Bryant is the truth f@#$ what youve heard

by Deuce Black on Mar 21, 2010 9:48 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm sure that was the case

and that they weren’t skimping out on evaluation merely because they didn’t attend a Pro Day

I'm still concerned about a few comments on Walter Football:

“3/1/10: Mixed reviews at the Combine: Arrelious Benn had a very nice 40 (4.48) at his size, but dropped numerous passes in the drills. He’s Braylon Edwards 2.0.

1/3/10: Arrelious Benn has declared for the 2010 NFL Draft. Benn had a disastrous junior season mired by drops and poor effort (i.e. the Bengals might be interested in Round 1). Still, it was a great move to get out of the Illinois sinking ship.

11/7/09: Needs to practice catching toilet paper in the super market; his hands suck. "

http://walterfootball.com/draft2010WR.php

Not sure how accurate the comments are but it’s certainly something to look into.

And there are reports like this.

Not sure he’s a #12 but could be a steal at #43?

I agree that everything else about Benn is great,

but inconsistent hands is a pretty objective comment. Either the guy can catch or he can’t, and that’s what I’m worried about.

Yeah. I know what you mean.

I think it’s pretty cool he followed Vontae from Dunbar H.S. to Illinois though.

well let's be honest

if Henne wasn’t very good, and Ryan can be a top 10 QB, then we made a bad pick. Just so happens that we were able to get a top-tier LT and still get a (seemingly) franchise QB in the 2nd round, something that rarely happens.
