PrintOk so like a lot of you I have been waiting for the Phins to sign our "#1 receiver." Me personally, I would love to see us trade our 2nd and possibly a later rnd pick for Brandon Marshall. If you watch his highlight film you seem to forget about all his past issues. This dude's a beast and he's only 25. I think possibly the hardest WR to tackle in the NFL. Now unfortunately I don't see the FO actually doing this.
So I have a backup plan for the Phins. Sign Javon Walker. He'll come cheap and he's a decent veteran WR that can teach our younger receivers. Now he has had some injury problems but I watched an interview with him and he's completely healthy and ready to go. He's a true possession receiver and he could be the big target on the field that Chad Henne needs to develop. I'd also like to see us draft a WR in one of the later rounds like Demaryius Thomas or possibly Brandon Lafell.
Now I'm not saying that Walker is the answer to all our problems at WR, but he'll definitely make an impact. He could be the #1 WR on the Dolphins with the receivers we have to work with. He's basically a temporary solution that should come cheap because no one seems to be interested in him. This guy's done pretty good when he's been healthy and I think he could be a big help for the dolphins. What does everybody think?

I would rather have Walker than Marshall. I got so tired of all the people advocating for Marshall. I don’t think the dolphins should draft Demaryius or Lafell. Like I said in my fanpost I think they should wait until later rounds if they don’t sign a veteran. Pick up someone like Danario Alexander. Personally I like the big recievers. Even though the dolphins have Turner I would like to have another one.
It'd be awesome if Patrick Turner can turn it up this off season...
and compete, taking over the #1 WR spot. It’s a lot to ask, but it’d be great if the guy develops and comes out as a franchise player for the next 10 years….All phin phans could then let out a huge sigh of relief and worry about other positions lol…

I was a fan of Turner from the beginning and was disappointed. I guess it takes time to develope though. I hope he makes it. This years WR situation should be very interesting.

Patrick Turner caught a lot of TD's from Sanchez...
It’d be great to see him catching TD’s against Sanchez’s team for the next 10 years!!! Slaughtering his former team mate and enjoying success while Sanchez continues to suck.

there is no reason at all not to want marshall, recievers are diva’s deal with it, we have good management to settle him down and he is hands down the best wide out in the game

I agree about 75%
I’d say Brandon Marshall is the best possession receiver in the nfl hands down. But Andre Johnson will beat corners deep just about every time. AND he played at the U? He’s the perfect WR. But like I said in the post, Brandon Marshall is the hardest WR in the game to tackle. The way he moves and break tackles is RIDICULOUS. He’s like half RB lol. Brandon Marshall would solve the Dolphins WR problem. Say what you want about his character, that’s how receivers are. He’s a threat and would take the dolphins’ offense to a whole new level. IMAGINE BRANDON MARSHALL IN SOME FORM OF THE WILDCAT WITH RONNIE BROWN!!!! And all the wildcat haters think about this; it WORKED. We can even throw some flee flickers in there for Henne.

And will not take anything less than the 1st round pick it will take to get him as an RFA.

As a Bronco fan I wouldn’t take a 1st for him, but I’m not sure the FO will agree with me. The word in Denver is that the Broncos aren’t interested in trading. If a team wants him they’ll sign an offer sheet and we’ll take their 1st, or match the offer.

Yeah it's been reported a couple places....
Pretty much everything out of Denver…including Adam Schefter (who is never wrong on Denver matters) and Mayock (who I also trust more than anyone at ESPN not named Schefter) says that a 1st rounder is the minimum bid. I honestly don’t think a mid to late 1st gets it done, but I’m not in control so who knows.

I think given the choices we are better off with what we have now … We weren’t that awful last year…. If we can get a Brandon Marshall and the front office is not against it, lets do it… otherwise pick one up in the draft.

What??
When you say “We weren’t that awful last year,” are you referring to receiving core who only had six touchdowns combined? Last I check there was damn near thirty receivers in the league who had six or more touchdowns individually. Marshall had ten by himself last year.

No, but a guy who can acquire ten on his own will take pressure off a group who can only produce six together. Can you imagine how much better Teddy could possibly be if he wasn’t expected to be our #1?? I’m not even saying we should get Marshall. I was just replying to the statement that “we weren’t that awful last year.”

well we weren't bad considering we don't have a #1.
Besides Marino never had a guy like that but he had a speedster and a guy that caught everything. So it can be done without a big, fast and tall WR, but needs a damn good QB and a good system. See Brady in the beginning when he won all those SBs.

Marshall is THE answer to the Phins #1 receiver debate. I dont want another "fill in untill (insert whomever here) developes. Put a true ELITE #1 on the roster and be done with it.
As for Turner I would like to see him sprout into a Marshall but its obvious he is not going to any time soon.
Henne is the QB of the Miami Dolphins. Good.

Lets not forget that this guy was part of the champagne incident in denver that led to the death of his close friend Darrent Williams, and then instead of learning from the experience he goes out and does it again and as a result gets beat up and robbed. I would actually like him to stay far far away from our recievers and teach them nothing.
