Around SBN: 2012 Budweiser Shootout Entry List Released

Shall we go back

I love Zach Thomas!!!

Star-divide

Hello fellow dol-fans, I don't know if any of you remember, but about 3 months ago, i made a poll stating "Which of the following players would make the most immediate impact on the 2010 dolphins?", so now, going back to that, these were the following players that were on that poll and how many votes they got: Brandon Marshall - 36 votes, Elvis Dumervil - 2 votes, Vince Wilfork - 49 votes, Karlos Dansby - only 4 votes, Anquan Boldin - 3 votes, Dez Braynt - 5 votes, Rolando McClain - 24 votes, and other - 1 vote.

ok, so now let me explain where they went or where they might go, Brandon Marshall is still looking to be traded and Miami could be one of his landing spots, Elvis Dumervil appers to be staying in Denver, Vince Wilfork got tagged by the Patriots and eventually signed a multi-year deal, Karlos Dansby signed with us, the Dolphins, Anquan Boldin got traded to the Ravens, Dez Braynt is still a top prospect, and we, once again are a possible landing spot for him, and finally McClain is another top prospect, but with the signing of Karlos now seems very unlikely to land with us.

Now there wasn't much point to this poll, just so we can reflect to what we said almost 3 months ago. Thoughts, and if you remember who you voted for, please comment below and tell us what your thinking now.

GO DOLPHINS!!!

Dude nice post but you should break it up a little, into paragraphs.

More people will actually pay attention to it, if it is easier to read.

We need Brandon Marshall....

Get it done … 2nd round pick (hopefully next years 2nd round…lol)… pull the trigger already…
Sign OJ Atogwe or Darren Sharper and forget about FS until late in the draft where we can pick up Myron Rolle
Draft a NT in round 1 (Terrence Cody hopefully)
Draft a raw OLB with lots of upside as soon as possible(one of the top guys is bound to drop unexpectantly)… or maybe we can get someone to bite on Ronnie Brown for a 1st round pick or Fasano for a 2nd round pick….
grab Jimmy Graham in the 3rd or 4th round(depending on if you have the OLB spot taken care of)
draft Torrel Troupe or Linval Joseph in round 4 or 5 and then cut Soliai

I disagree with the thinking that Eric Berry, Earl Thomas, or CJ Spiller are the best player available in the draft at pick 12. You can not compare a NT to a FS—- you are a fan. “Draft experts” also can not compare a FS with a NT because a FS is often the product of the system they play in, and a RB is a product of the offensive line they play behind. I am confident that our front office can evaluate, but drafts never go down the way they are supposed to.
It is relatively easy to find guys that can run fast(see Tedd Ginn, Jr), but that by no means transfers into any ability to play in the NFL. It is easy to find quick guys but it doesn’t neccessarily mean they will be productive in the NFL. It is much easier to find a big guy who is athletic and who has been productive in college and say that he will be a productive NFL player. While we could go with a late round pickup at NT we would most likely get a warm body who takes up space instead of a game changer.

A member of the Draft Terrence Cody at pick 12 bandwagon!
Chris Clemons or Myron Rolle at FS bandwagon!
Taking the wheels off the Draft CJ Spiller bandwagon!

i like Nate Allen of USF for FS

"My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die."
Jerry Hughes in the 1st
Nate Allen in the 2nd (Cant have enough Allens on the secondary)
Jimmy Graham in the 3rd

I voted 4 Vince Wilfork

Still stand by it!, KD is a great needed addition, but we cant overlook the NT position.

I will see the Dolphins win a SUPER BOWL before i die(23 years and counting)

i agree

nose tackle is a very important overlooked position, some people look at that position and see that stats, only like 50 tackles and 2 sacks but the nose tackle position isn’t about stats, its about pushing back the o line and creating holes for guys like wake and dansby, and we need to adress that position

Nose Tackle

I agree that a NT should probably be the first pick of the draft. It is a very important position.

The Dolphins can easily get a good WR in later rounds.

I said it before and I will say it again. Danario Alexander is going to be a steal in the later rounds. In my opinion he is the best WR in the draft.

I agree with you on Danario Alexander... Like the YAC

Terrence Cody NT (pick 12), Jerry Hughes OLB(pick 43)
Jason Worilds OLB (pick 73), Jimmy Graham TE(4th rd)
Linval Joseph(5th rd), Myron Rolle FS(6a), Danario Alexander WR (6b),
Daniel Te'o-Nesheim OLB (6c), Legarrette Blount RB (7a), Micah Johnson ILB (7b)

Thank you

It’s hard to get people to agree with me on Danario. I hope the Dolpins have at least looked at him.

Im completely on board with Alexander.

Been talking about this guy for a while, a couple weeks ago I wrote on here that I was the only member of the Alexander Bandwagon, glad to find out that I was wrong. This kid is gonna be a star, hopefully its for us.

In my opinion,

we should trade a 2nd and 5th for Brandon Marshall, take Jason Pierre Paul in the 1st round, take Terrence Cody in the second round, but if he’s gone take Cam Thomas, then sign Darren Sharper to a 1-2 year deal and take Myron Rolle in the 4th round and let Sharper develop Rolle and Clemons, and take the best remaining tight end in the 6th round, anyone with me?

by Dolphins2010Future on Mar 20, 2010 5:43 PM EDT reply actions

except we have no 5th...

"My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die."
Jerry Hughes in the 1st
Nate Allen in the 2nd (Cant have enough Allens on the secondary)
Jimmy Graham in the 3rd

That is going to make it harder to trade the pick.

Did we get an extra 2nd round pick?

Cause youre saying to trade 2nd and a 5th to Denver and to then draft a NT in the 2nd. Either way, like they said above, its gonna be kinda hard to trade 5th that we dont have. I dont like JPP at all and I dont understand why people keep bringing up Rolle to the Phins. Hes not a FS, I found a SI article a couple weeks ago that has him listed as an OLB prospect. Hes a big solid tackler that doesnt make big plays, hes only had 2 or 3 int’s his entire college career. I do think if we draft a TE that itll be in the late rounds, so I guess thats one thing that Im with you on.

oh,

and take a running back in the third round

Look at that you went from one paragraph to a rec

Oh and what ever you do never talk bad about Chad Pennington. He’s like an untouchable god around these parts.
