Dolphins Complete Dansby Trade
What? We signed himn as a FA right? How could this be a trade?
Well, now it looks like we essentially traded our LB for theirs.
That's right. The fan-favorite Joey Porter has agreed to terms with the Arizona Cardinals.
Good luck Arizona. Hopefully you can get some use out him.
I just hope this 3-year, $17.5 million doesn't drive up Jason Taylor's asking price.

why would they pick up an old guy
that talked a bunch and didn’t do anything since 2008
The only wisdom is the knowledge that you don't know.
And, as always, screw the JETS!!!!!!!!
I can see them picking him up as a stop gap but where they screwed themselves is with that contract once there is a salary cap again after this year.

That contract doesn't mean stop gap it would mean starter.

I get that. My point was that I could see him picked up as stop gap but they
gave him that contract and are thus stuck with his dumb ass.

QUICK!
Somebody get Al Davis out of the Arizona GM’s ear. The Cardinals will go from 2 minutes from the Lombardi trophy to looking up at the NFC West champion by the end of this coming season. Sad, Sad, Sad.
NY Jets = NFL's Chicago Cubs
There's a fine line between hopeful and desperate. Just look @ Jets fans.

He played for far less than Porter last year. I fail to see how this signing has anything to do with JT.

Because he had a better year (less sacks, but better overall) than Porter...
So why wouldn’t that mean he can ask for more money?

Well he may ask for more than he got last year but he knows that there is not a big
check waiting for him in Miami and he has stated that he would still prefer to play for Miami even if it means less money. I think he still wants to play but he has money and he may actually be one of the guys that puts his family before a fatter check.

Well... I personally think we need to resign JT even if it costs us a bit more than last year...
I think the year in Washington has him realizing that he loves playing for Miami. We have a chance to be a contender this year and He can be a major contributor. He would also be an awesome mentor for Wake and the other OLB that we pick up in the draft. He is a situational player, but he still has a way of being in the right spots to make plays. You can’t blame reduced production to him getting old just like you really can’t blame JP for having reduced production. Our defensive scheme last year would have been laughable, if it wasn’t so sad.
That said Joey Porter is a turd and I am glad that he is gone, knowing that he sent Wake off the field when he was sent in by the coaches to replace him. We have a veteran that can mentor our 2 young OLBs and can rotate the 3 of them in and get the most out of all of them this year. I know it is taking a while to resign him, but we are definately going to do it.
Does anyone remember the Pitt game?
he was asked to blitz but saw Ben throw it and disengaged and almost picked near the goaline!
Then he ran with the RB all the way down the feild.
Then the Bucs game? He caught a ball off qand got an TD :-) but the ref already whistled it dead :-(
Then the FR TD in the Jets game? The man can play and is still productive. I really don’t know what’s taking this FO to get it, unless he wants a lot of money which he doesn’t.
The only wisdom is the knowledge that you don't know.
And, as always, screw the JETS!!!!!!!!
I recall all these things and more. Resign the man damn it!
