Ricky wants to play past 2010

Yup, I said it. We all know that Ricky has dropped long time agent Leigh Steinberg and hired Drew Rosenhaus. Well now PFT is reporting he did it because he want's to play past 2010.

Everybody all aboard the "sign Ricky to an extension now" bandwagon". I'm not joining. I think Ricky is gonna have a major drop off this year and reality sets in.

I'm sure there were a few others that agreed with me in the past

But if there was one thing I attached my name to in the last few months it was that I felt Ricky would go past 2010. I said it a few times and each time I was quickly replied “no way, he said he’s done after 2010”.

I hope this is a wake up to those of you that take these guys at their word, especially Ricky.

All you had to do was realize that he’s playing for the money, not the thrill of the game. Then realize that it’s been quite some time since he’s gotten into trouble as well as his strong 2009 season.

At 11:46 in the fanshot about the first report from PFT I commented again that he’d play past 2010. Then at 12:01 PFT reported that the plan is for him to play past 2010.

I know this comes off as cheeky but this is something that’s really bugged me whenever I’ve brought it up.

The only reason Rosenhaus would get involved now is to get him traded and resigned to a new contract unless he’s trying to get it from the Dolphins.

Ricky still owes the Dolphins 8 million on paper. He did that last extension without working that out. Steinberg was pissed about that but what was done was done.

If Ricky planned on playing out this deal and becoming a UFA next year then there would be no reason for Rosenhaus to be involved right now. I doubt Ricky would have brought him in if he didn’t think there was money to be made right now.

Go get Suh if at all possible.

I think he realizes that he won't be ready to go fo a little while

and he realizes the value of being around our strength and conditioning program. The way I see it is if Henne stumbles hard before week 6 then we might see Pennington. If not then I’m sure if a team is interested before the trade deadline that Pennington will be a hot name floating around.

I believe him when he says he wants to mentor Henne but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to start somewhere in the future.

The 200k a game if he plays is more aimed at if Henne were to go down, fail or if Pennington is traded. I don’t think Pennington has some plan to unseat Henne unless Henne unseats himself.

Go get Suh if at all possible.
