PrintI know what everyone's initial reaction is.. Too much baggage right? Well that certainly has been true in the past, but there was a glimmer of normalcy from TO last season in Buffalo, and although his numbers have dropped steadily over the last few seasons no one can tell me he's not capable of making big plays & contributing. He's a better WR even now than Ginn ever will be. Ginn needs to be a return specialist ONLY..
The Phins can get him cheap right now & Parcells and company can surely manage him as easily as Porter (run your mouth & your gone...) I say pick up up & still keep all the other WR options open. At least then they can focus the #1 pick on LB or NT & pull a young WR in 2nd or 3rd round. I don't want Bryant.. to big a risk w/ #1 pick..

Ain't gonna happen
for many reasons. ‘The Player’ and Parcells are like water and oil. ‘The Player’ criticizes QBs and receivers for conspiring to leave him out. ‘The Player’ is a media hound – not what Parcells and the team want at ANY position.
He’s got undeniable skill, but it ain’t gonna happen for him in Miami. Just sayin’.

The guy has proven that he is not a team player. Yes, he kept a low profile in Buffalo but Buffalo is a low profile kind of town so it was easy for him to stay out of the media circus.
It seems all of the NFL franchises know that he kept a low profile to make him more approachable for the FA. They’re not fooled and Parcells knows that if TO comes to Miami(party town USA) he won’t be keeping a low profile because he won’t be in a low profile city.
Anyway, he’s only chip to play is that he’s a first bid hall of fame WR but he isn’t the mentor type. TO only cares about TO and won’t help any of our receivers to learn the nuances of the position. If he were the more of the mentor type, HELL YES! Sign him because we have such a young receiving corp and having an elder statesmen to guide and lead them would be ideal. But TO has proven to be more of a distraction and I wouldn’t be surprised if he would hurt our young receiving corp. So HELL NO!

That I we desperately need a WR. But given the fact that I am not going to have to directly put up with his crap day in and day out … and I have not had any personal run-ins with him in the past … I would not be upset if they passed on him…
That said I think the guy is probably nothing more than a cancer and will hurt this team more than help it … but who knows …. he played nice all last year even when they questioned him about how bad his QB sucked to try to get him to open his big fat mouth and he resisted… The guy is like 36 now right? Maybe he is finally maturing?

I keep seeing people claim that TO is changed because he behaved himself in Buff. last
season. Well anyone that has paid attention knows that hes always a model teammate in his first season with a new team. It’s his second year that he becomes a total team cancer and always finds a way to divide the locker-room while claiming “Its not me its them, right?”
You MIGHT take a chance on a guy like that if you were that one player away or you thought this was the year that you had all the other pieces to make an honest push for the Super-bowl. Now if any of you think thats the case then your still not paying attention. All he does for this team is take a roster spot thats better spent on a young guy that can/needs to develop for when we are ready for that full on push in a year or two.
