Around SBN: The Ten Worst Swings Of The 2011 Season

Top picks could be Georgia Tech

Im gonna give you my thoughts for draft and how they will address each position....

Round 1- we draft derrick morgan, georgia tech, 3-4 olb

Alot of people say that he is only a 4-3 end but he can be a 3-4 pass rushing linebacker. he is a terrell suggs ( baltimore raven) type player. same body, height, and weight. same pass ruishing moves terrell had coming out of college.

Round 2- hopefully we get Demaryius Thomas, georgia tech wr

Most likely he'll be gone but I just like him, big 6'3 224-230 (heard weight within that range) and his speed is between 4.38-4.60 ( i personally think  4.38 is high but i heard reports he ran a 4.38 and his agent sent them to every team) he avaeraged 19 yards a catch. I seen alot of games of his and its the ttuth he can break tackles and go along way...

Round 3- Morgan Burnett, georgia tech, fs

He has ball-hawking skills, tackle and he is just a pure upgrade over our safetys in the free safety department ( i'm a huge yeremiah bell fan and he finally got  recognize in the pro bowl) his pro day was on march 16th 2010 and more than 1 report i heard from alot newspaper articles websites and even the website I personallly go to ( www.walterfootball.com just go to pro days or go to scouts it got all the information there) had him running a 4.42. Thats great cause speed was a concern for him...

Round 4 - 7 coming soon i need to gather more information for y'all so what do you guys think of our first 3 picks being from georgia tech. I could be bias ( or i think i spell it right)  because i grew up a hard dolphins fan im just living in georgia so i see alot of there game and im convinced that they are gonna be key players, but watch the videos and see for yourself..........

GO MIAMI DOLPHINS GO, F YOU JETS YOU S-U-C-K-K-K-K, F YOU PARTRIOTS THERE IS NOTHING PARTIOTIC ABOUT YOU, F BILLS I DON'T NEED TO SAY NOTHING BILLS ARE JUST A DISGRACE...............

Morgan

I like this Kid. Everything time I watch this guy he is being Double and Triple teamed on most every play. He has a full aray of rush moves also. On tape he uses the Bull Rush, The Speed Rush, The Spin Move, The Rip and The Swim Move. I haven’t seen anyone this solid in years. Parcells has got to be Drooling over this kid. If people think he can’t switch to a 3-4 think agian. This to me is the type of player Bill Parcells Dreams of when goes to bed and wakes up wet in the morning.

One Thomas isnt worth a second.

That would be like taking Ginn at ninth again but not as bad since its a second. Two Im not sure Morgan is a legit convert since I havent seen him as a convert in any scouting report. Not all DEs in a 43 can play a 34 SOLB. But the kid can give a good pass rush though.

Like Ginn he is too big of a project to take at that spot.

It will take years for him to run routes like a normal receiver since he played in the triple option run offense. In the NFL you have tooo run routes, especially if you don’t have elite speed.

Hard for me to say

I’m 50/50 on the first pick, a little less on the second, and even less on the third. I don’t know enough about Derrick Morgan and the transition from DE to SOLB to make a fair judgment, but I think Demaryius is too much of a project to be drafted at 43. Don’t get me wrong, I’m in love with the guy, but I’d be much more willing to shell out a third-rounder for him.

Personally, I’d rather invest our #12 in Earl Thomas since he seems like the most slam-dunk pick we can get there. Instant upgrade regardless, and HUGE upside. I think we can get a SOLB somewhere else, maybe Jerry Hughes at 43. Plus, I have more confidence in Parcells finding a great mid- to late-round linebacker than I do with him and safeties.

Ideally and somewhat realistically, I’d love to see

1. Earl Thomas
2. Jerry Hughes
3. Demaryius Thomas/Cam Thomas/Linvall Joseph/Jimmy Graham
4. Jimmy Graham/Myron Rolle/T. Troup

It's 2010 - do the smart thing. Draft Myron Rolle.

I like your 1st and 2nd a LOT

Actually I also posted those two, I will gamble with Demaryius in the 2nd, in the 3rd is a steal.

From a GT Fan

I love this draft (obviously), except for Derrick Morgan. Don’t get me wrong, this guy is incredible. But he was never really asked to drop back in coverage when he played. He was our by far our best pass rusher, putting up staggering numbers, even when he was getting double- (if not triple-) teamed, and was a beast against the run. However, I question his ability (as many do) to convert to OLB.

Both BayBay Thomas and Morgan Burnett would be huge value picks if we got them in our 2nd and 3rd round picks, respectively. Demaryius could easily be a #1 receiver (think of a lesser-value Calvin Johnson). Hes got the size, speed, hands, and most definitely strength. He possesses a ridiculous stiff-arm. A guaranteed 10 yards was throwing a WR screen to him (obviously you can’t run this every time though). His major question mark, though, will be his route-running ability. Often times he was man covered, due to GT’s triple option. While people may say he may be rusty reading zones, I disagree. While often times he was man covered, almost all of his routes were read routes. This guy has the potential to break out, has an incredible work ethic, and a great person overall.

Morgan Burnett is a ball hawk — this is the best way to describe him. People point to his “drop-off” in production from his sophomore season to his junior season (10 ints in his first season, and 4 in his last). But people forget to mention he played with a cast the entire time, and played with lackluster CBs. When asked to be a rover, he is lights out. His downside, from everything I read, is his run coverage. However, I highly disagree. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen wrap up. I don’t know if I can recall a time when I saw him blatantly miss a tackle either. This would be a huge pickup in the 3rd round.

Sorry if I repeated some points, or re-hashed comments from previous posts, but this post just got my blood pumping.
